Architectural Attractions

Get your cameras ready, architecture buffs. From the storied skyscrapers of NYC to the 17th and 18th-century buildings of Quebec City to the ornate basilicas of Montreal, you’ll be taken on a tour of different architectural styles at each port. Make sure to partake in the offshore excursions at each stop; Regent has perfected these outings and provides them at no charge to passengers. Take a walk in Quebec’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the only walled city in North America. Further your understanding of Halifax history with an excursion to the famous Halifax Citadel — at lunchtime, reenactors of the Royal Artillery fire the traditional noon gun. In Bermuda, take a guided tour of St. George, another UNSESCO World Heritage Site and the second-oldest English town in the New World. Marvel at the island’s pastel pink, green, blue, yellow and peach homes topped with brilliant white rooftops.

Waterfront Wonders

You’ll find aquatic attractions and city scenes in equal number on this cruise. The historic waterfront of Halifax, Novia Scotia is scenic and bustling, giving travelers a sense of Canadian life. There, the longest running ferry in North America will deliver you to beautiful Dartmouth, the “City of Lakes.” Take an excursion to the quaint fishing village of Peggy’s Cove and admire its monuments dedicated to sailors. At Havre-Saint-Pierre, cruise to the remote attraction of Petite Ile Au Marteau, an uninhabited island known for its biodiversity. In Bermuda, take a scenic electric bike ride from St. George’s to Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve and on to Clearwater Beach, a lovely beach filled with nature trails and opportunities to spot rare tropical birds and loggerhead turtles.

Cultural Treasures

Regent cruises are designed to give passengers an in-depth understanding of the places they visit — expert tour guides are on hand to educate passengers on the historical relevancy and traditions of each location. In Halifax, for example, an excursion to the Museum of the Atlantic reveals the world’s largest collection of wooden artifacts from the Titanic. In St. George, view replicas of England’s crown jewels at Fort St. Catherine or enter a museum that depicts 17th century Bermuda life. In Sept Iles, visit the Old Trading Post, a reconstruction of the fur trading post that Hudson’s Bay Company operated from 1673 to 1842. And in Havre-Saint-Pierre, immerse yourself in the indigenous Innu culture by visiting a First Nations village, where you’ll sample traditional Innu cuisine and discover how the Innu people have used more than 500 plants for medicinal purposes.
