There are not enough superlatives and adjectives to describe what it is like to be on safari in Tanzania. Wildlife surrounds you, colorful birds fly above you, and vast landscapes envelop you. Experiencing wildlife and nature in its pure form is just amazing!

Tanzania is home to several unique places found nowhere else on earth including,: the Ngorongoro Crater - the largest caldera in the world; the Serengeti - home to the largest migration of land animals in the world; Mt. Kilimanjaro - Africa's highest mountain and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world; and Olduvai Gorge - one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world.

During my travels in Tanzania I prefer to stay in small boutique luxury camps in the heart of the parks. Being in the wilderness isn't exactly roughing it! The camps feature luxury "tents" that rival any mere hotel room and include: beds with high-end bedding, full private bathrooms, electricity, charging ports, and a private patio area to watch wildlife as you enjoy a hot drink and snack brought to you each morning. Full sit down meals are created by chefs who present you with gourmet meals and snacks, and a full bar is on offer too.

Life at camp revolves around spending your days on safari; followed by drinks and snacks by the campfire as you watch the sunset colors blaze across the sky. After dark you can sit in wonder at the number of stars and details of the Milky Way visible under some of the darkest skies in the world (rated Bortle class 1 for fellow astronomy buffs). The sounds of nature will be your lullaby song, and a chorus of birds are your wake up call.
