Family fun at Splashaway Bay in the Surfside Neighborhood
SurfsideSM
The main reason Icon of the Seas should be your family’s top choice is Surfside. They call it a “stay-all-day” neighborhood because that’s literally what many people do here. Designed especially for families, Surfside has a sprawling Splashaway BaySM aquapark, a Baby Bay pool for the smaller ones, the Water’s Edge kid-friendly infinity pool, a neon arcade, a spinning carousel, a climbable PlayscapeSM and three great places to eat. Kids of all ages get exclusive hangout spots of their own close by, as do adults who like to relax with a drink while the kiddies play nearby. You can even book one of the ship's Surfside Family Suites with a balcony overlooking the fun.

Everyone wins at the Lost Dunes mini-golf course
Thrill Island
For children and teens who seem to have an endless supply of energy, the Thrill Island neighborhood will be their favorite spot. Here they’ll find the six twisting, turning, record-breaking slides of Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, along with the 40-foot Adrenaline PeakSM rock-climbing wall, the Lost DunesSM mini-golf course, the classic FlowRider® surf simulator, the Crown’s EdgeSM ropes-course challenge, a basketball court and ping-pong tables. And when they get hungry, they can grab a tasty lunch at BasecampSM and an over-the-top treat at DessertedSM Milkshake Bar.

Absolute Zero - the largest ice-skating arena at sea
Royal Escape Room and Laser Tag in Absolute Zero
There’s more fun to be found outside of Thrill Island. Families can team up to race against the clock and crack the code at Royal Caribbean’s latest and greatest Royal Escape RoomSM. Don’t worry — they’ll let you out if you can’t solve the puzzle (which we sadly discovered firsthand). Or strap on your sensors for a glow-in-the-dark laser tag battle in Absolute ZeroSM, the largest ice-skating arena at sea.
Kids Clubs
Every Royal Caribbean ship features kids clubs at no additional charge, and Icon of the Seas is no different. The award-winning youth program for kids from 6 months to 12 years old, Adventure Ocean®, packs more adventure into dedicated spaces day and night. There’s also a hidden Social020 teen space, the Hangout for gamers and AO Babies for the wee ones, home to the AO Theatre for magical Storytime. Of course, with the kids happily engaged, the adults can enjoy a special date night at any of the 15 bars and entertainment venues on board. We recommend grabbing a flute of Champagne at BubblesSM or a coffee-inspired cocktail mixed to perfection at Rye & BeanSM before catching a live performance at Lou's Jazz 'n BluesSM.
