Winter – Rocky Mountain State Park

To get in the holiday spirit on your winter honeymoon, travel no farther than the snow-dusted peaks and frosty white pines at Rocky Mountain National Park. Bundle up for a range of winter pastimes, from popular snow sports like skiing, dogsledding and snowboarding to niche activities like ski biking, ice climbing and skijoring. At night, stroll the festively decorated Elkhorn Avenue in Estes Park, browse Native American jewelry shops, duck into a cozy tavern for a piping hot shepherd’s pie or curl up by a crackling fireplace in your romantic mountain lodge.

Must Do:

  • Spot wandering moose and elk that migrate from the high country in the winter
  • Snowshoe the Bear Lake Loop trail past mirrored frozen lakes and sweeping mountain vistas
  • Unwind in a steaming hot spring surrounded by snowy cliffs and dripping icicles

Spring – Zion National Park

Framed by Zion Canyon’s steep red cliffs and the aquamarine waters of the Virgin River, Zion National Park is a wonderland of challenging hikes, scenic drives and breathtaking photo ops. Spring is a great time to visit, before Utah’s desert temperatures reach their scorching peak and while the plants are at their greenest. For an extra romantic experience, check out the glamping tents like those at Under Canvas® Zion. The safari-inspired accommodations include full private bathrooms, wood-burning stoves, stargazing windows and private decks surrounded by Utah’s spectacular desert terrain.

Must Do:

  • Hike Angels Landing, the strenuous trail that ascends a 5,700-foot peak overlooking the canyon
  • See the waterfalls, hanging gardens and tiered natural ponds at the Emerald Pools trails
  • Get a different view of the landscape with a tour by helicopter, e-bike or ATV

Upgrade your stateroom and watch the breathtaking landscapes glide by from your private balcony.

Must Do:

  • Book a whale-watching excursion or wilderness tour for a closer view of Alaska’s native animals
