European River Cruise Report
AmaMora
Cheers to river cruising once again!
Kim Gorres, a Travel Leaders agent from New Richmond, Wisconsin, reflects on the current travel experience on her recent AmaWaterways river cruise:
It was wonderful to visit Europe again and experience it firsthand. The pre-trip testing was easy - we did it right in our office. The ship provided the return test service on board.
Masks are required in common areas, hallways, lounges, dining rooms or when exiting the ship. As soon as you’re seated, you may take your mask off. While touring, masks are optional. All guides are required to wear a mask at all times. On outdoor tours, most of us chose to not wear a mask.

We were reminded to wear a mask while in France; they were a bit stricter than Germany. When walking on our own in small groups, a mask wasn’t needed. But we did wear them while walking with our group.
On board the ship, all areas offer hand sanitizer and prior to breakfast each morning, health attendants would take our temperature. All staff on the river cruise are required to wear masks at all times. Everywhere we went, customer service personnel were working to keep things clean and sanitized. We felt welcome and comfortable, and I would highly recommend traveling right now.
Guides were helpful and welcoming
Sara Butruff, a Travel Leaders agent from Apple Valley, Minnesota, comments on her AmaWaterways river cruise:
Of course, everything went fabulously and is always easier than we think. AmaWaterways did a fantastic job with everything, and their staff was impeccable. We have already booked our return trip for the Tulip Time cruise in April of 2023.
Check-in on the ship went smoothly and the staff always had their masks on and were very kind when reminding us to have ours on in public spaces except when eating and drinking. Testing to come home was super slick. They just called us to a particular area and then the Cruise Manager helped us complete the process. Results came via email so there’s no reason to stress at all as the staff helped us with everything.

Terry, Denton, President of WorldVia Travel in Roswell, Georgia, shares his experience sailing with AmaWaterways:
Once you arrive, check into your stateroom and explore the ship for a few minutes, you suddenly appreciate what a great decision you made in choosing AmaWaterways for your river cruise. The ship is glistening clean and surprisingly spacious with comfortable, modern décor throughout. As we say in the travel industry, AmaWaterways has first class “hardware.”
As the trip concluded, we found ourselves drifting into historic Basel, Switzerland, one of the most striking cities on the globe. This scene reminded me that there has never been a better time to travel. The prices are low, and the crowds are non-existent. Get out there and start building memories for a lifetime.
