Cruising Your Way in Alaska

A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE
Norwegian Cruise Line was the first cruise company to eliminate set dining times. Rather than being held to any strict schedules, travelers have the freedom to change their minds and do as they please on their vacation. They’re not held to a strict dress code or assigned seating. Wear a full suit or wear shorts and a T-shirt, it’s up to you! This “Freestyle Cruising” concept has people returning to cruise on Norwegian ships year after year for the friendly, laid-back atmosphere.

DELECTABLE DINING
Guests are guaranteed to eat well on a Norwegian cruise. Take the 7-Day “Alaska: Glacier Bay, Skagway & Juneau” sailing, for example. The cruise departs from Seattle, arguably one of the best food cities in the United States. Stop by one of its many renowned coffee shops and head to the famous Pike Place Market for fresh fish and people-watching. Once on board, you’ll find specialty restaurants offering sumptuous dishes like escargots bourguignonne, lobster enchiladas, blue crab salad with avocado and fresh tomato, and slow-roasted meats served tableside. You’ll dock in Ketchikan, the Salmon Capital of the World, where there will be time to taste all five types of Alaskan salmon: king, coho, sockeye, pink and chum. You’ll also have the opportunity to sample plump oysters and learn shucking techniques at an authentic oyster farm.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for all guests and crew when sailing begins again. Norwegian will also be implementing its multi-layered “SailSAFE” health and safety program to protect guests, crew and communities. The science-backed plan was informed by recommendations from the Healthy Sail Panel, a group of globally renowned experts led by Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. These measures include controlled guest capacity, contactless food service, continuous ship-wide cleaning using EPA-approved disinfectants, upgraded medical-grade air filtration systems and more. Each ship will have both a dedicated public health officer on board to oversee safety initiatives and an infectious disease prevention officer.
