Traveling with family members with disabilities or special needs? I can help you!
Hi, my name is Laura Low. I have been traveling for many years with my own family and have loved the fun and challenges that can pop up from planning a vacation. Planning a trip, with a special needs child has taught me many tricks and tips that you will find invaluable.
Did you know that airlines block off certain rows for families with special needs? Did you know that most airports participate in Wings for Autism? Did you know that TSA really does care and are wonderful to deal with? Did you know that most theme parks have disability assist programs?
If you have thinking of planning a vacation but afraid of the unknown of how to travel with a special needs family member, then fear no more! I can help you, based upon first hand knowledge. My son has Autism, and I have been traveling with him, his twin sister and my husband in the US and internationally (our favorites are Mexico and Iceland!) for years.
When I begin planning my own vacations, I love doing research on destinations, people, hotels, food, activities, special needs accommodations and prices. I really enjoy making memories that will last a lifetime.
Most people thought I was crazy for wanting to bring my 7 year old twins to Iceland, but I thought of it as a trip of a lifetime. How many kids get to see tectonic plates, geothermal hot spots, glaciers, volcanoes, geysers, meet people that truly believe in elves and gnomes? They experienced things that most people only read about and the best part is, they asked when they can go back because they loved it so much.
Don’t get me wrong, my kids love Disney and Universal, but were excited and anxious about what they were going to do in Iceland. My attention to detail about what would appeal to my family was crucial in why our trip was so successful and I can do that for you to.
Disney takes a lot of planning with character meals, fast passes, park hours, character meet and greets and more. For families traveling with special needs children this is an even more daunting task. Because I have first hand experience, I feel confident that I can make your trip magical and memorable, no matter where you want to travel to.
Whether you are looking for a weekend away, a week-long vacation, a cruise, or anything you can dream of, I would like to help your dreams come true.
