A friend and I had Great Escapes plan a Rhine River cruise and an extensive tour of Switzerland. The personalized assistance we were given in planning this trip was outstanding. You need to realize that we are two 80 plus year old ladies that wanted to see many, special to us, places that were not included on any itinerary that was offered by river cruise company and did not want the hassle of handling our own luggage. We contacted Lisa at Great Escapes about a bucket list trip of attending the Australian Open tennis event and touring Australia after tennis. From our first visit, Lisa was right on point with listening to and translating our style of travel into the perfect itinerary. With her experience in attending professional tennis events, she was able to secure us some of the best seats in the court and seamlessly coordinate all of our hotel and logistics. The itinerary and plans she set up for us following the next several weeks were diverse and included helicopters, kayaking, rain forest and the great barrier reef. We had fantastic cultural encounters throughout and wonderful relaxing exploration at Hamilton Island. Lisa even arranged a stop on the way back for us to discover Fiji for several nights. We had an amazing trip to Tahiti and are so grateful for Lisa's help. There were several flights and transfers, it was nice to have all those taken care of and it ran so smoothly! My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a dream vacation to New Zealand planned by Lisa at Great Escapes. We just returned home from a great European River Cruise. This was the second big trip Lisa has planned for us. She did a fantastic job setting up all the details of the trip. We didn't have to worry about a thing. The events she planned on Bastille Day in Paris were phenomenal! We skipped many lines and saw the best of each city. We had specific dates and various logistics for our family to travel to Peru Arequipa and Machu Picchu. With our family coming from several different states and arriving on different dates and limited time to see and visit a long list of sights and remote areas. Lisa put planned our trip to Machu Picchu to remote villages and areas in South Peru all the way through Cuszco, Machu Picchu and Lima. The drivers and guides Lisa arranged for us allowed us to learn about the local culture and history as we enjoyed our surroundings. The hotels she booked were in very agreeable pleasant converted monasteries with unique architecture and perfect for our family. It was planned and implemented perfectly for us. Lisa is a delight to work with. She listened to what we wanted and asked questions to learn what would be the ideal vacation for us. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a special trip and had never been to Europe.

When we first met Lisa, we knew we wanted to go to Italy, and to see the main sights, but we were not quite sure what else to do. Lisa suggested a car and driver to drive us through the Italian countryside which turned out to be the highlight of our trip. We drove through vineyards and stopped in small hilltop medieval villages that were hundreds of years old, visited outdoor markets and went places that the tour busses never go. If you want a trip that is made just for you, Lisa is the person to arrange it for you.

Lisa did a fantastic job helping us a plan a family reunion in Hawaii. Coordinating 36 people (including 15 children) is a daunting task and Lisa’s knowledge was so helpful. She helped us find a fantastic resort, activities and plane tickets to get all of us on the same flight. We can’t wait to use her again for our next family vacation!

It was our dream for many years to tour Italy and attend the French Open tennis tournament in Paris. We first met with Lisa at Great Escapes and told her our wish list. She presented us an itinerary with a tour that included all the places we wanted and more. She customized special skip the line tours for us where the rest of the tourist were standing in a really long line. Not us, we went right to the front with no waiting! After our tour ended in Paris, Lisa set us up at the most wonderful Parisian hotel right across from Notre Dame Cathedral. She pre-arranged small group tours that took us to the Louvre and Versailles palace. When it came time for the tennis, we had hand picked baseline seats and saw the worlds best compete on clay. If a journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step, then indeed it was our fortune that our first step was to meet Lisa from Great Escapes.

We met with Lisa about two years before we traveled. We were planning a bucket list trip to Italy, Spain and Portugal. Having specific places we wanted to see and visit while not being in a group tour. Lisa listened and made suggestions we hadn't thought of. She presented us with a fantastic itinerary that included over two weeks on our own and a ten day river cruise. It was the ideal combination. For our anniversary celebration I took all of my family to Hawaii. My kids are grown and have kids of their own, so it was more than 40 people. I first contacted another travel agent who told me that there was no way we could all go for my budget and travel together on the same flight. Then my daughter in law told me about Lisa, so I gave her a call. Lisa arranged a beautiful luxury resort with living areas, veranda's and gourmet kitchen and stunning ocean views. The kids loved the pools. She also arranged a beach front Luau dinner show that everyone enjoyed. We all were on the same flight, and the resort she booked was the perfect resort that had a wide variety of amenities, right on the beach! I knew it was a challenge, and it turned out beautifully. My family was traveling to France and Spain and I wanted some help but also the freedom of doing what we wanted. Lisa was great at finding beautiful hotels in the perfect areas. As a brief summary, every arrangement, train and lodging, worked exactly as planned. A couple of our rooms were upgraded I am certain due to your influence. The van was perfect.
We followed the plan pretty much as outlined. We did not go to Arles but went to Chateaunuef du Pape instead. The kayak trip was great. There was overcast so the sun was not beating down in us.
The Eiger trail was a great and we spent the day in the mountains where it was cool. All of the hotels you selected for us were a delight and located perfectly.
The Storchen in Zurich was a treat. It is a great hotel in a great location.

"Magical" is the best way to describe the trip that Lisa booked for us. Her hotel recommendation was FANTASTIC (Grand Hyatt - ocean view room....hello!!) and when we arrived, she even had a little gift sent up to our room. What a nice touch!! :) We ended up not using her first flight recommendation, instead opting for a different airline, and Lisa booked it at our request without batting an eye. All the travel plans she made were perfect. We never arrived anywhere to have someone say "Hmm, I don't see you in our records." Lisa really listened to us when we told her our preferences, and therefore booked us on the south side of the island, which I'm glad about, b/c when we ventured north it was a very different feel and not really "our speed". She seemed to know that instinctively. We really can't thank Lisa enough for planning the trip of a lifetime. We are now trying to figure out how we can go back to Kauai, and hope to use Lisa's services in the future.

When we went to South America, we contacted Lisa at Great Escapes Travel for help with our travel plans and we absolutely loved the trip she planned for us. She arranged for us to ride on the historic Hyrum Bingham train up to Machu Picchu, which was a highlight of our trip. She also arranged for a stay at a lovely historic monastery in Peru. It was a great experience to see the historical ruins of the Forum and Colosseum in Rome with our private guide that wisked us right by the lines for instant and exclusive access Lisa makes sure that we are getting the most for our money, whether it is a stay at an excellent resort, or making sure we get to see and do the things that are most important to us. We have had Lisa plan several European river cruises for us and she made special sight seeing arrangements for us at Versailles to have us picked up at our hotel and taken to Versailles. Once there, we had a guide unlock doors for us and give us history of this palace in a private setting. No crouds at Versailles! It was a memorable day we will remember. We like that she really listens to us and then tailors our itinerary to fit our interests. Lisa goes the extra mile to make the most of our travel.

We trusted Lisa with our 'once in a lifetime' trip and she came thru with flying colors! My wife and I along with two friends took a 16 day, 1800 mile coach tour of England and southern Scotland . There must have been a million details to make that trip work and not a single one was left out.

The hotel she recommended in Paris was terrific - two blocks from Notre Dame and within walking distance of many of the sights. She also hooked us up with two tours in Italy that were wonderful, with expert guides. On a scale of 1 to 10, my wife and I would rate Lisa a 12. Super work!
