The Villages, Florida Travel Agent
Luxury Travel/Bucket List Specialist
“Traveling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” One of my favorite quotes that is so true. The pictures that you saw in history books, geography books; the books you read, the movies and TV shows you have watched are verified by your personal observations and experiences. Being a travel counselor is one of the most rewarding phases of my life. I love to see the excitement mount as I counsel my prospective travelers. Since I have been to so many places, I can personally relate my experience about what to see & do on their trip. The look on their faces as I hand them their travel documents is priceless. Beyond that, when they return from their trip (and at times during the trip) their expression of thanks gives me a great feeling.
During my 20 year Air Force career, I was stationed twice in West Berlin, Germany. During those 7 years, my wife & our two young boys tent camped throughout Europe & Scandinavia. We experienced more cultures and sights than most people do in a lifetime. It was great to go back and re-visit those places and let someone else doing the driving, cooking and dish washing!
22 years ago, after my first cruise, I decided to open a home based office to sell cruises. My experience with an inexperienced agent convinced me that I could do a much better job of travel counseling. Since then, my wife & I have cruised on over 130 cruises and toured 80 countries.
I have earned the designations of Master Cruise Counselor (MCC) and Luxury Cruise Expert from the Cruise Line International Association. I am also a Princess Commodore, Cunard Commodore, Oceania Cruises certified & I am a Celebrity Five Star Agency (The highest travel agent designation for each of these cruise lines). Ama Waterways Specialist, Club Med Agent, Silverseas Cruises Specialist, Crystal Cruises: All Inclusive.
I am accredited by the International Association of Travel Agents (IATA), and a member of our local Chamber of Commerce. To maintain my knowledge in the industry, I attend numerous training sessions and workshops, regularly attend trade shows, conventions and ship inspections, which keeps me abreast of industry developments and future offerings not yet known to the general public. My membership with the Vacation.com consortium gives me preferred fares with certain cruise lines and tour operators and amenities for our customers not offered by other agencies.
I teach courses about cruising & touring at local community colleges and give informational presentations to community groups such as Kiwanis, senior groups, etc. I also escort certain groups at no additional charge.
Several years ago, I expanded my offerings to include world-wide land tour packages, all- inclusive resorts, and riverboat cruises. Why? I found that some of my clients were booking tours with other agencies because “we thought you only sold cruises.” Lesson learned. Now, I keep in touch with my clients and let them know about any new travel opportunities that arise. I have taken specialized training in these niches which generally included familiarization trips allowing me to experience the products. I am a Sandals/Beaches specialist.
I offer group leaders certain amenities for introducing us to groups that book and travel though us. Certain programs allow the group leader to travel (almost) free.
My goal is to fulfill your dreams. Email or call me to discuss your plans.
