Similarly to most younger Victorians, my first international trip was to Bali post-graduation. It was here, my love for exploring the world began.
..Immersed in a completely different culture, surrounded by environmental wonders, rich traditional history and a plethora of new experiences, my outlook on life back home changed completely. It was then that I realised how life-changing it could be, to travel the world.
I was lucky enough to travel to several other countries during the next year, further igniting my interest in different cultures, landmarks and history. It wasn’t long before I started working with my first TMC to help craft similar life-changing experiences for others!
My fondest memory from these early travels was my time volunteering in South Africa – where I lost my appendix but gained a real appreciation for nature and all its wonders. I’ve been blessed to establish relationships with a family I sponsor in Nepal and trek to the village they live in, to visit in person. Each trip, gaining more appreciation for the blessed life I lived back in Australia.
As the travel bug really began to ensue, I took the leap and moved to Italy for a few months, where I studied Italian, ate pizza and lived my best life! The journey then continued when I decided to move to the UK, travelling all across Europe, followed by transferring to Hong Kong, to understand the Asian travel market and further explore this area so close to home.
Meeting locals when you travel, is the best way to really immerse yourself in the destination and as a result of forging lifelong relationships across the world, I’ve been blessed to travel to over 80 countries.
After spending some amazing years abroad, I decided to take a challenge closer to home, where I invested in a local travel agency in Alice Springs and spent 18 months crafting unique experiences for the Red Centre population. All these wonderful experiences lead me lastly to settle down in Brisbane and lead our team of exceptional travel specialists, all across Australia. My dream job.
