Bamberg Rathaus in Bamberg Germany
Traveling to Germany is always special for me because it was the first European country I visited almost 30 years ago. It's what created my desire and passion for Travel! It was great seeing the Oberammergau Passion Play which is held every 10 years in a beautiful alpine village full of German wood carvings and other crafts. I have traveled the length of the Main River Valley from Frankfurt-am-Main to Nuremberg visiting definite must sees like Wurzburg with its famous Marienberg and Bishop's Palace. In fact, the prettiest Baroque chapel I have ever seen is in Wurzburg. But I also like to visit hidden gems like the moated castle, Mespelbrunn, or my favorite hidden candy factory in Mannstockheim, or the various wine festivals throughout the Franken region held in small towns which still have part of their walls remaining!
When I travel to Germany I like to find hidden gems like the beautiful Belvedere overlooking the town of Weimar where you can relax and enjoy light refreshment at the local restaurant located here. I have also gone off the beaten path to the Meissen Porcelain Factory to experience hundreds of years of German craftsmanship as well as experiencing the Der Zwinger Museum and riverwalk in Dresden which showcases post-World War II reconstruction. I have traveled along the Rhine from Koln to Heidelberg and throughout Bavaria seeing not only the tourist sites but also small towns and villages in the four times I have visited Germany.
So whether you are looking to see all the highlights of Germany and the Passion Play this next year with an escorted tour, or whether you want to combine the must-sees along with hidden gems, I would be happy to help you explore Germany and German culture in an exciting experience to a wonderful destination!
