Killarney National Park
I think Ireland is fantastic!Though I have been there seven times, when I travel there I like to find hidden gems that are off the beaten path. Some of them include Georges St. Arcade and the Smithfield Tower only a few minutes’ walk from downtown Dublin. Or the Fota Island House and Gardens just a few train stops from Cork where the minute you step off the train you are surrounded by the countryside. So whether I am enjoying the craic (Irish for fun!) at the Brazen Head, the oldest pub in Dublin, exploring neighborhoods like Smithfield and the Liberties for different shops, or taking the Dublin Area Rapid Transit trains to the many coastal towns like Bray within 45 minutes of Dublin, I am always looking for unique experiences or sites in addition to the typical tourist stops. My favorite drive or tour is the Dingle Peninsula. Nothing beats standing at the end of Slea Head on a clear day and looking out over the Atlantic to the Blasket Islands that are just off shore. The mixture of the wild Atlantic crashing on the shore below and the surrounding landscape is just fascinating! My home is Owatonna, Minnesota where I have lived for over thirty years. I have helped clients from around southeastern Minnesota and the Twin Cities area make memorable experiences in Ireland! But no matter where you live, I can help you and your friends and family truly experience the beauty and warmth of Ireland! So whether you are looking for an escorted tour to be sure you hit all the highlights or wish to travel at your own pace, I can help create a memorable experience where as an Irish blessing says,” the wind is always at your back, the road rises up to meet you and where you are always sure of a hundred thousand welcomes” from the wonderful Irish people you will meet!
