Snowdonia is a national park in Wales home to the mountain Snowden. You can hike (or cheat with a train ride) to the top of Snowden or take advantage of any other hiking trails. Many will undoubtedly lead you past a meandering river or a refreshing lake. 

Sports:

Suppose golf is your passion; how about playing at St. Andrews. St. Andrews is the oldest and most iconic golf course in the world. You could also play at some of the UK's finest courses that have hosted the Ryder Cup.

You can't mention sports in Europe without mentioning soccer, known locally as football. You could take in a game watching the legendary Liverpool F.C. at Anfield Stadium. There are also many other teams to watch throughout the UK and Ireland. If you are interested in football history, the National Football Museum in Manchester is a must-see.
