Toon Town Disneyland
Hi, you don't know me. But I feel it's important for you to have an idea of who I am and why I chose travel. There are a lot of choices out there. I'm sure you know that. So, I figured, if I took you back in time a bit to see what led me here you might see that I was meant to do this. And, you were meant to find me, so I can help you plan your vacation. I am a former teacher and current home school mom, when we travel there is an educational element (or five) attached to our travels. I believe there is no better way to learn about the world, and it's people, than to experience it first hand. That's not to say we won't do a theme park trip (we have many times between WDW, Disneyland, Universal, Sea World, you get the idea), but I still like to add some history/technology into the mix. That's how we plan our trips. Maybe that sounds just right for you, but if it doesn't no worries. I won't expect you to take a quiz upon your return!
Now it's time to take a trip back in time. (imagine swirls or something here)
The most memorable events in my life have included travel. My parents say that my first words were " I can't wait to leave New Jersey". I'm certain I wasn't advanced enough to string together a sentence when I first began to talk. But, my parents saw the signs immediately that I wasn't planning to sit still for long.
When I was in elementary school I remember watching a Sunday night program that featured Disneyland. I believe it was called "The Wonderful World of Disney". Do you remember it? Each week I would be transported to the most magical places. When I was old enough to travel solo Florida was my first stop. And, Disney World did not disappoint.
College happened and I left with a BA in Communications. Now what? I did some interning in NYC and found that maybe working in the broadcasting industry wasn't for me. Then I landed a job in corporate travel. I stayed there and then decided it was finally time to move out of NJ.
I moved to CA and live within an hour of Disneyland. I couldn't even tell you how many times I have been there with my family. We have been pass holders for several years and the magic continues for me today.
We are a home school family. Therefore, when we book a vacation we always research and tie it into our travels. I enjoy not just traveling but preparing and looking forward to travel. For instance, when we are planning a trip, not only do I research the area, but also what do people wear? How can I best fit in and still be respectful to the culture? My son has been to a lot of places. There hasn't been one that he has gone to without prior knowledge of where we are visiting, what we are planning to see and the significance of events that took place there. Travel is not just for enjoyment, although it certainly can be, it is a way for us to understand history, culture and to see how we are all not that very different when it comes right down to it.
In 2011 we took our first Disney Cruise. We were hooked! The crew was amazing, the shows were incredible and the food delicious. We knew we would take another. And we did! This cruise was on the Disney Dream and much larger ship than the Wonder we traveled on previously. We tied in our trip with a visit to WDW then took our trip on the Dream from Port Canaveral, Florida. It was a fantastic time.
We love to cruise and have recently sailed on Carnival from New Orleans, LA. After spending a few days in New Orleans (what a great city!) we cruised to Key West (another bucket list item checked), Nassau and Freeport. We had a relaxing and fun time.
This year takes us back onto Disney Cruise Line. This time to England. As usual, we will start our trip with some time on land. London, to be precise! We will check out both Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey fans?) and WB Studio tours (Harry Potter!). From there we will check out palaces, museums, theaters and more! Then it's off to Dover for our cruise to Ireland and Scotland.
So, that's my very abbreviated story. I love travel, every bit of it, even the detours that throw off plans and take us places we didn't know existed! I would love to help you discover your perfect vacation again and again!

We love to cruise, that is an understatement really! My husband and I have cruised separately and together and we both agree our favorite experience has been with DCL. Our first DCL cruise was from our home port in San Diego. It was nice driving to the port and getting on ... Read more from my Disney Cruise Lines story.
The Central Coast of CA is our home away from home. For many years now we have traveled to Pismo Beach, CA. It is a funky little beach town with lots to offer. We camp when we go, but recently a lot of resort like hotels have opened by the beach and ... Read more from my Central Coast CA story.
Our family decided to check out our own state on this vacation. I had never been to Yosemite National Park so we decided it was time! For this vacation we decided to go with a VRBO. We needed to bring our Labrador with us and this was much easier than trying ... Read more from my Yosemite National Park story.
