Traveling alone may sound scary to some people, but for others there’s no better way to explore the world than on their own. Whether you’re thinking about going on your very first trip by yourself, or you’re leaving for your hundredth solo vacation, having a travel agent in your corner can make all of the difference.
My first experience traveling solo was to Scotland in the spring of 2011 when I spent a semester abroad at the University of Stirling. Getting from Chicago to Glasgow wasn’t an issue, but the real adventure began when I ended up at the wrong train station and had to scurry my way across an unfamiliar town to catch my ride to Stirling. In that moment being alone felt chaotic and intimidating, and I wished I had a travel agent to call for help so I didn't have to face this problem on my own.
