My adults only stay at Valentin Imperial Maya!

Paradise found!
Paradise found!

The Valentin Imperial Maya is a beautiful resort. It truly took my breath away. I have been to many adults only all-inclusive resorts, but this one is now my favorite property I’ve stayed at. This resort is definitely the best value for your money you can find for an adults only all-inclusive in the Riviera Maya. Upon arrival at the Valentin Imperial Maya, you are immediately greeted by the luggage handlers, who proceed to give you a check-in slip for your luggage. They then escort you to the beautiful lobby and you’re greeted with a cool towel, a flute of champagne and a smile. The check-in process was fast and friendly. Guadalupe informed us that our room would not be ready until 3PM, but we would have full use of the facilities until then. We immediately proceeded to have lunch at Restaurant Mar & Tierra, which is located in the lush greenery, right near the beach. This restaurant serves buffet breakfast and lunch. They were having an international buffet while we were there, but we stuck to the Mexican options. Everything we had was very good. The service was great and it was nice having lunch outdoors with the sound of the ocean in the background. After lunch we changed into our swim gear and headed to the pool for the foam party that is held at noon on Sunday’s. The GO! Team entertainment staff definitely did a great job keeping guests entertained. During the foam party they and out balloons to wave around in the air, beach balls to toss around and great music to keep the party going. This definitely gave the resort an adult spring break vibe. If you’re not into that sort of thing, the other end of the pool is a more quiet area. They also have what they call the Lazy River, which is near the Golden and Swim up Suites in buildings 6, 7 & 8, which is even quieter yet. Be aware that at the main pool the towel game is alive and well. If you do not have your spaces picked out in the morning, you will have trouble finding a spot until later in the afternoon. The Valentin Imperial Maya has one of the most beautiful, powder soft white sand beaches that I’ve seen in the Riviera Maya. The water color is just gorgeous. The beach in front of the Emerald Junior Suites (buildings 9-14) has a little bit of coral and rock mixed in the sand, and the water out front is not swimmable due to rocks in the water. If you walk north from the walking path that leads to the beach, you’ll find the roped off area of beach where they have great swimming and the soft is really soft. We stayed in the Emerald Junior Suites, which are the rooms closest to the beach. We were in building 12, room 12204, which was amazing. The view from this room is stunning, whether you are looking at the beach from the terrace or the floor to ceiling windows from your huge in room whirlpool. The window in the whirlpool area fully opens so you get an amazing breeze from the beach and at night you can look up and see millions of stars. During our stay we mostly had breakfast at Restaurant Le Marché, which was a buffet with some cock to order stations. We also had room service. We would place our order the night before so that we would not have to wait in the morning for our food. For dinners we ate at La Hacienda, Ginger, and L'Alsace. The ala carte restaurants do not require reservations, with the exception to the Hibachi tables at Ginger. All the meals were very good, with the Mexican being our least favorite, and the French being our absolute favorite. The show cooking at the Japanese restaurant was amazing… Probably one of the best Teppanyaki chefs I’ve ever had. I tried escargot for the first time at the French restaurant, and absolutely loved it. The French onion soup had a crust baked over the top, and it was probably the best soup I’ve ever had. The filet mignon and crème brulee were also amazing. Really outstanding from beginning to end. At night the common areas are pretty lively. One night they had local vendors set up in the courtyard for shopping, which was a nice touch. Since this resort does not require reservations you can hang out in the courtyard and listen to the band and have some drinks while you wait. It really did help make the time go very fast. If you’re looking for things to do at night, this resort has nightly shows and the Sports Bar seemed to be the place to be, at least during our stay. Overall I was very impressed with the Valentin Imperial Maya. The staff really do their best at making you feel special. This is a very large and tropically lush property. At night the paths are romantically lit and you look up to see millions of stars. I definitely highly recommend this property and truly feel it’s one of the best values you can get for your money in the Riviera Maya.
