HOW CAN I OPTIMIZE NEXT SUMMER’S EUROPEAN VACATION
For those who enjoy cruising, Viking is now offering two different cruise itineraries which include both river and ocean voyages. What a great idea! You are treated to a river cruise and an ocean cruise in one package -- just one trans-Atlantic round trip!
One itinerary, a 7 day cruise, begins in Bergen, Norway and cruises the North Sea.
Ports of call include:
Flam -- spectacular views of the fjords
Stavanger -- home to some of Europe’s oldest wooden buildings
Kristiansand -- site of an historic Viking fortress Oslo -- one of the most scenic and historically rich cities in Norway
Skagen -- quaint fishing village After your sea voyage, you’ll board your river cruise ship in Amsterdam and prepare for the next step of your journey on the Rhine River through the Netherlands and Germany.
Kinderdijk -- known for its charming windmills
The second itinerary is a 15 day river cruise which includes more European cities, Budapest, Vienna, and more German highlights. I’d be happy to explore these options with you to plan this unusual “double cruise” experience.
Cologne, Germany -- surprisingly, ancient Roman ruins are found in the midst of modern Cologne
Koblentz, Rudesheim and Speyer, Germany -- dotted along the beautiful banks of the Rhine with views of medieval buildings and market streets Strasbourg,
France -- shares the border with Germany and offers a multi-cultural experience Breisach, Germany -- famous for its vineyards and home to the Black Forest
Basel, Switzerland -- disembark in a city where the borders of Germany, France and Switzerland meet. Imagine the wine, beer, cheese and breads that will tempt you in that location!
