Riu Palace Las Americas October 2020
As we could not take our trip to Morocco this year I still wanted to give my husband a vacation. Mexico began to open up and we opted to visit Cancun. I had heard from several of my Travel Advisor friends who had travelled this year to Mexico and received all positive input.
We flew on Delta Airlines and were impressed with the sanitation protocol and the fact that no middle seats were occupied.
The resort, an adult only property, made us very comfortable with the safety and sanitation steps. It was only about 25 - 30 percent occupied. Temperatures were taken any time a person entered a public area.
There were several dining choices open but we often chose the buffet so we could sit outside. Each time a guest entered the serving area they had to sanitize their hands, even if they had just been in the area. Masks were required except when seated.
The nightly entertainment was held in an outdoor pavilion so we could enjoy the festivities and still be socially distan.
The property was beautiful and the staff up to speed on safety measures. I would be completely comfortable advising my clients to visit the resorts in Cancun.
In two weeks I will be visiting Cabo with other advisors to tour resorts.
