Carnival Horizon Western Caribbean Cruise

The Grinch just can't be
The Grinch just can't be "grinchy" here!

My family and I went on the Carnival Horizon, Western Caribbean cruise.  We chose this ship because of the Dr. Seuss Waterworks for the kids, and we really like these ports!

The ship was great!  They had an interesting elevator system that we finally figured out about half way through the cruise, very modern.  Meals at dinner were excellent and our waiter was awesome.  So much energy - put on quite a show for us every night!

We had balcony rooms this time, and I will never sail again without one!  We always had windows before, but such a difference with the balcony!  It was so nice to sit out on the deck in the morning before things got started.  I especially liked it at night when you could see the stars for miles, and listen to the peaceful waves as we sailed quietly through the night.  I took a video of it just so I could listen to the waves, later on!

We went to a "resort for a day" in Jamaica.  We just wanted to lay back and relax on a beach and it was a great choice!  Not crowded, unlimited drinks, swim up bar, unlimited food.  Great fun for adults and kids!

Grand Cayman is another favorite port!  Lots to see and do but we did a lazy day. We wandered around town, and ate at Hard Rock Cafe.  Food was great and you cannot beat the awesome views, watching the ships go by! We grabbed a taxi to a nearby public beach.  It was crowded, but we didn't mind as it was just a quick trip and it was beautiful.  There were chairs/umbrellas for rent, which was perfect for pale me!  Very relaxing and fun!

Cozumel has a lot of great things to do, including one of my favorites, the Ruins of Tulum. There are 2 things to remember if you go there - wear your swim suit under your clothes to swim at one of the most beautiful beaches with the clearest, prettiest blue water ever, and take bug spray for the mosquitos!

We decided to take a snorkel cruise this time, and killed some time shopping near the port, and relaxing at a local bar near the ship, before it was time to go.  so relaxing!  The excursion included some beach time, and it was very fun!  We went with the family - the kids did pretty well with snorkeling.  Mom and Dad worked with them in the bath tub for a few months beforehand, which helped a lot!  They thought the fish were cool! (So did I!)

All in all in was a great trip!  Even with a balcony cabin it didn't break the bank and the memories were priceless!!
