My dream retirement trip was planned as far back as 2019, when my husband Walter and I, decided we would travel to Australia and New Zealand. Sadly, my husband passed away in 2021, and the last thing he said to me was, “Promise me you will go.” I faithfully agreed. As my May 2026 retirement approached, I remembered my promise to my beloved and began seriously considering the trip. I felt very apprehensive about traveling alone and came up with countless excuses not to go. Thankfully, I was referred to Ms. Laura Heyl — who may very well be included in my will because she was superb! When I tell you she was kind, understanding, supportive, and inspiring — she truly was. She gave me the confidence to honor my promise and go for it. I am so glad that I did, because it truly was the trip of a lifetime.
