A Disney Cruise is like no other cruise or vacation! With four ships in the Disney fleet and with 2 more scheduled to debut in 2021 and 2023, you can experience many different itineraries and unique differences on each ship. My first Disney Cruise was in 2008, a 4 night on the Disney Wonder. Now fast forward to 2016, I have sailed on all 4 ships and have taken 10 Disney cruises. My personal experiences can help me plan your Disney Cruise Line vacation. Disney Cruise Line is a separate entity from the theme parks, but it carries over the customer service that you come to expect from Disney. Disney has beautiful clean line ships with specific colors unique to the cruise line. The attention to detail in the decor of each ship’s atrium (each one is different) is what you see when you enter the ship for the first time. Each ship has a specific rotation of itineraries that range from 3 to 14-night cruises. You could cruise to the Bahamas on the Dream, to the Caribbean on the Fantasy, to Alaska on the Wonder (during summer months), and to Europe on the Magic (during summer months). I love taking 7-night cruises on the Fantasy, but I will not turn down a 3-night on the Dream! Not only will you be able to enjoy the different ports of call and cultures, but there are so many activities on the ship to experience. Each ship has live Broadway type productions nightly, first run movies, character meet-n-greets, Bingo, tours, cooking classes, alcohol tasting classes, karaoke, family shows, and adult only shows; only to name a few things. There is something for everyone! And when you go on a Disney Cruise, your children will have a space of their own. Disney knows how to entertain children so parents can have some quiet time, too! I had to make a rule for my daughter to eat dinner with us each night since she was making friends and wanted to be in the Kids’ Club. Speaking of food, there is an abundance of variety on the ship. From the main dining rooms, to sandwiches, pizza, and hamburgers, to the buffets, and room service, there is always something to eat. There’s nothing like getting a Mickey bar delivered to your stateroom at 1:00 am. There are 2 distinct pool areas on the ship- a family/kids’ area and an adults’ only area. So, you can watch movies on Funnel Vision (the large screen on the funnel above the family pool) or enjoy the peace and quiet at Quiet Cove. All of the pools onboard are filled with fresh water not salt water. One of the unique experiences on the cruises that go to the Bahamas or Caribbean is a visit to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. Disney has provided separate areas again for families and adults only. And the Kids’ Club is on the island as well. A fun day for everyone! When you plan a Disney Cruise vacation, you can have a vacation within a vacation if you are traveling with your family, time for family and time for adults only. But a Disney Cruise is not just for families with children. Adults will not feel out of place if you decide to cruise on Disney.
