For me, luxury travel has never been simply about spending more.

It is about having the right experience, the right access, the right people and the freedom to travel in a way that feels distinctly yours.

After more than 10 years of planning travel, I have learned that two clients can visit exactly the same destination and come home having experienced two completely different trips. The difference is often not where they went, but how the journey was designed around them.

Some travelers want the independence of a completely tailor-made itinerary, with private guides, carefully chosen hotels and enough flexibility to explore at their own pace. Others love the ease and access of a luxury small-group journey, where exceptional guides and thoughtful logistics allow them to concentrate on the experience rather than the mechanics behind it.

For some, the journey itself becomes part of the adventure.

That might mean an intimate yacht sailing through the Mediterranean, an expedition ship reaching places that would otherwise be difficult to experience, a world cruise that unfolds over months rather than days, or a private jet journey linking extraordinary destinations without sacrificing precious time along the way.

And sometimes the brief is simply: we want to do something extraordinary.

Those are conversations I particularly enjoy.

I am fascinated by the possibilities at the more unusual end of travel, from once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounters and remote expeditions to private journeys, landmark celebrations and experiences that many travelers may not even realize are possible. And yes, as travel continues to evolve, that increasingly includes possibilities as ambitious as space travel.

Extraordinary does not have to mean extravagant.

Sometimes luxury is having a private guide who brings a place to life. Sometimes it is arriving at the right hotel rather than the most famous one. Sometimes it is avoiding an unnecessary connection, having someone else take care of the logistics, or simply having enough space in the itinerary to enjoy where you are.

My role is to understand how you want the journey to feel, then find the right way to make it happen.

I work across a broad network of travel partners, including tailor-made journey specialists, luxury small-group operators, expedition companies, ocean and river cruise lines, intimate yacht experiences, private aviation and exceptional hotels and resorts worldwide. Partners such as Tauck, Abercrombie & Kent, Kensington, SeaDream Yacht Club and Viking are examples of the specialists available to us, alongside many others selected according tothe journey rather than because they sit on a predetermined list.

That freedom matters.

At MAD Travel, we are not trying to fit you into a product. As your Private Client Associate, my job is to understand your priorities, use my experience and relationships to open up the possibilities, and then shape the right combination around you.

Because the most memorable journeys should not feel as though they came off a shelf. They should feel as though there was only one person they could have been designed for: you.
