Europe, the Mediterranean & Beyond

After more than 10 years of planning travel across Europe and around the world, I’ve learned that choosing the right destination is about much more than deciding where to go. It is about finding the place that fits what you want from the journey.

I have particular depth in Europe and the Mediterranean, especially Italy, Greece, Croatia, Portugal, Iceland and Ireland. These are destinations I know through a combination of firsthand travel and years of designing journeys for clients, and they continue to be some of the places I most enjoy working with.

What draws me to a destination is its sense of character. Great food. History and culture that you can actually feel around you. Dramatic scenery, wildlife, distinctive neighborhoods and those smaller experiences that make somewhere stay with you long after you have returned home.

I also have a personal connection to Australia, where I lived after college, and I enjoy designing travel through Australia, New Zealand and Costa Rica, as well as other destinations where nature, culture and a sense of discovery come together.

But knowing a destination well is only useful if that knowledge helps me find the right experience for you.

Sometimes clients come to me knowing exactly where they want to go. Others begin with something much less defined: somewhere beautiful but not overly busy, a trip centered around food and wine, dramatic scenery without an exhausting itinerary, a milestone journey that needs to feel genuinely special, or simply the desire to discover somewhere different.

I enjoy those conversations because they often lead to the most personal trips.

My role is to understand what you are really looking for, then use my firsthand experience, years of planning travel and MAD Travel’s global relationships to narrow the possibilities. I will tell you when the iconic destination really is worth it, and I will also tell you when somewhere less obvious may suit you better.

Because destination expertise should not mean steering every traveler toward the same places.

It should mean knowing enough to recognize the right place for you.
