For the longest time my cruising interest was all about high energy and lots of ship amenities.  But I've arrived at a point in life where those interests are/have changed.  My kids are all adults now and have moved out of the house and my pace of life is slowing down.  I like things a bit more upscale perhaps more refined.  I'm more interested in cruises that are not quite as high energy any more.  I'm not riding down slides that span 10 decks anymore!

My wife and I decided to try out Princess Cruise Line and were greatly satisfied.  We felt that the demographic of guests on board were more closely aligned to our current life journey.  There were still families on board and they had plenty of things to do.  It just felt a step up from the other "mass-market" cruise lines.

The decor was more refined, the food was certainly a step up, and the pace on board the ship allowed us to sit on deck with a book without a lot of distractions.

Our most recent Princess cruise was on the Grand Princess.  And while she is an older ship, she didn't appear or feel "tired and worn out".  This demonstrates the attention that Princess puts into all of their ships.  And the priority they place on passenger experience.

Whether you're looking to do the Caribbean or take that bucket list cruise to Alaska, Princess is a great option.  Princess has been the top cruise line in Alaska for over 20 years running.  I recently sent 4 families on a "Cruisetour" which was half cruise and half land tour to Denali on Princess.  The family came back raving about the experience.  They felt that the Princess lodge in Denali was of the same quality as their ships and that the personal service from Princess staff while on land was outstanding.

So, if you're like Linda and I and are at the point in life where the slides, rides and ship board thrills are not that important, Princess might just be the cruise line for you.
