Ivy is one of the best travel agents we have worked with and our trip would never have been as wonderful without her help! She is incredibly efficient and responds so quickly to any inquiries, going above and beyond in the service she provides, both during the planning stage and the trip itself. She quickly helped us deal with some unique situations that arose as the impact of COVID19 escalated while we were on our March trip. Her knowledge of Japan was invaluable to us in planning and organizing our itinerary. The final package she provided included exceptional details in the itinerary made it so much easier and stress-free to navigate and get to our various destinations so we could fully enjoy the sights, food and people of Japan. Most of our correspondence was by email. Ivy is dedicated to pleasing the traveler. She has up to date airfares at the ready, so she returns your inquiries quickly. She suggested I email her when I needed Vietnam hotels, due to possible computer corruption and fraud. She returned with two hotels booked - protecting my credit card information. Ivy has traveled much of Asia and was a resident in Bangkok for one year. I asked her the non tourist places to visit. Fun. I splurged and traveled business class with one of her suggestions ANA: their service and food was excellent. I have Ivy looking for Jan-March 2019 back to Bangkok/KKC. Have her working with you, a good partnership.

Awesome Family of Five Trip to Thailand

Ivy was invaluable in our recent family trip to Thailand. We had booked a VRBO and she was able to book the rest of our trip and other parts of the journey around this. The type and amount of activities she planned was the perfect balance for my family of five to keep us entertained, allow us to experience the nature and culture, while still allowing us downtime to also explore on our own or enjoy some relaxation. She was super responsive both in the planning phases and during our trip, even at odd hours from across the world and she was able to make last minute changes where needed. She put all our itinerary and receipts in an app that was so helpful in keeping us organized, we didn't have to remember anything except our luggage and passports. I don't think we will ever plan another trip without her guidance and expertise. Highly recommend her services!

My husband and I have been in awe of the service we received from Ivy.
Sadly, COVID-19 delayed our wedding and thus, our honeymoon, so once we finally got married, we kickstarted with Ivy again to get our honeymoon (and my birthday) planned and set to go.

Ivy was excellent! She went above and beyond to make this trip the adventure of a lifetime! Ivy is friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and responsive. Our trip was 10 weeks to Japan, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. Ivy booked our entire trip (flights, accommodations, and excursions). While planning the trip, she catered to our preferences and incorporated all of our requests. Ivy responded to emails right away and booked everything in a timely manner. Our itinerary was packed full of fun activities, and was organized in a user-friendly and detail-oriented way. She also provided helpful information about the local culture, entry requirements, currency, visas, etc. for each country. We recently returned from a trip to Thailand and cannot be thankful enough for all of Ivy’s help planning this trip with us as well as her ongoing support while we were overseas.
I cannot even imagine how different our holiday would have been without her help and recommendations. She was very thorough and it was reassuring to know she was just a message away while we were over there. Even though we had a 12 hour time difference, she responded quickly when we messaged her and was very responsive when we requested making some adjustments to our plans.

We had a great experience working with Ivy for our trip, she planned all the flights and accommodations based on our requirements and needs, there are many great suggestions for places to visit from her planning. Without her guidance and directions we would've been really lost in our trip. She even has automatic updates should flights gets delayed.

We found Ivy through a Google search on Japan travel, and we were not disappointed. Ivy created an excellent itinerary for us, including hotels, activities, transportation, food, and interesting facts about the area we were visiting, after understanding what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go. She was available and responsive to us while we were travelling, even booking some last-minute activities. The App we used was particularly helpful, and the new activities were easily added to our itinerary. Ivy provides a turnkey itinerary you can follow or not—lots of flexibility with step-by-step instructions. We never made a wrong turn. Would highly recommend her services.

We had a family trip to Japan. Everything was perfectly organized by Ivy (transport, hotel accommodation, activities and restaurant suggestions). All the information was provided that it made it easy to move around in the country without any stress. For us, this was the perfect balance between the knowledge of activities that were “must see” and the flexibility to do it at our own pace. Given the high number of tourists in Japan, having this flexibility was important to us as it allowed to manage our activities to avoid of “peak tourist time”.
In preparing the trip, Ivy was resourceful and flexible to respond to our interest. We highly recommend Ivy and will use her service for any future trip in Asia.

We just came back from Japan, where we had some incredible time!!!
We have seen and experienced so many different things while there and it's all thanks to Ivy! When you go for the first time to a foreign country, especially as exotic as Japan, you'll be completely lost without careful planning and guidance. Ivy made our trip most enjoyable form the very beginning to the end. She created a step by step itinerary for us - starting with the introduction, which described Japanese customs, traditions, manners and acceptable public behaviour, and finishing with smart and thoughtful recommendations for places to stay, visit and eat. She booked everything for us as well. The entire trip was placed on the app with access to it anytime anywhere (every single detail was explained there with the corresponding links)! I can’t recommend Ivy enough! We’ve trusted her twice for 2 of the most unforgettable trips, and she’s exceeded our expectations. For our honeymoon, Ivy planned a once-in-a-lifetime trip through South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, & Thailand. Every detail was thought out & perfectly tailored to us. Based on her fantastic reviews, my wife contacted Ivy Lam to assist us with a 5-week trip to the Philippines, South Korea and Japan in April 2024. Ivy was great to deal with. Whatever we were looking to do with our trip to Japan she made it happen. When the kids saw something on Tik Tok, they brought it to her and she squeezed it into our itinerary. All of her suggestions were great and the tour guides she used were top notch and were happy to be there. They provided insight and brought us places we would have never known if we did it in our own. She is quick to respond to emails/texts even while we were there with an 13 hour time difference! She even checked in on to see how it was going and if she could assist. Would use her again.

Our First "Dream Trip" to Japan

Ivy was a pleasure to work with when planning our first trip to Japan. We needed a travel specialist’s expertise to revise our train travel plans and to book hotels and performances for our month-long 10-city trip. Ivy always went “above and beyond” when providing these services. Hotel bookings were completed quickly and proved excellent. Her revision of our train travel plans allowed us to commence our trip with confidence. Ivy procured all of the tickets for events that we hoped to attend. These include: the Sumo Wrestling Tournament (Tokyo); performances of the Tale of Genji (Tokyo), Noh Theater (Kyoto) and Kabuki Theater (Osaka); visits to three of Tadao Ando’s buildings (Osaka and Naoshima Art Island); and a bike tour in Arashiyama (Kyoto). These activities were among the most memorable of our trip! -- We’ll be pleased to work with Ivy again in the coming months to plan our next adventure for the spring or fall of 2025.

Booking a trip to Japan I knew I didn’t have the knowledge or language skills to plan everything the way I dreamed it so after some research online found Ivy. What she designed for us was an actual dream vacation. Her hotel, event, and transit bookings along with her suggestions on activities all flowed together seamlessly for our two week stay.
Every day was jam packed with amazing things and we got to experience many facets of Japan from shopping, nature, arts/culture/music, cuisine, and the rich history.

A perfect trip to Japan

This was our second trip booked with Ivy. The first was to Greece and Turkey, and just recently a 17-day vacation to Japan. Ivy being very knowledgeable with different Asian destinations, every single detail was well thought-out . We started with a general outline of the time we would alot to each city, and then she helped plan a detailed itinerary in each city. She recommended hotels, activities, guides, sites, restaurants and preferred modes of transportation. And all of this is done according to your budget and trip preferences. A well-planned trip can maximize the good experiences and avoid any bad surprises. In our case, everything went perfectly. We visited Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Kobe and Osaka, all within just over 2 weekes. We will no longer book a discovery trip without Ivy.

My daughter, Andrea, and I just got back from a trip of a lifetime to Japan that was organized by Ivy Lam of Travel Gaga. Ivy helped us plan out every detail of our trip from perfectly located hotels to plane/train schedules that worked seamlessly, plus she gave us a ton of ideas on sights to see and things to do everyday in each of the cities we visited. I called Ivy needing help with a trip to Japan.
Most of the sites you cannot book if you do not speak Japanese even with the English translation some eg Ryokans you would need to call them and book. Ivy was incredibly helpful and recommended one that was top class!

At first, we were skeptical of the benefits of working with a travel agent. We've always planned our own trips so we weren't sure if we get much value. That being said, traveling in certain foreign countries for the first time can be tricky and complex. For instance, Turkey requires a travel Visa and there a multiple illegitimate websites that "sell" visas. Also, coordinating transfers and tours with verified companies was very important to us. Ivy helped us plan a wonderful 30th anniversary trip to South East Asia which included 3 countries. She found us great deals on flights, and made excellent recommendations for hotels and tour excursions. She booked everything for us which made planning this trip very stress free. She was incredibly responsive and even checked in with us while we were away. She confirmed our tours a few days in advance (even with the 12 hour time change) and was available if we needed to connect. Honestly, we couldn’t have planned it without her. Worth every penny!

20th Anniversary trip to Japan
