About Me

La Paz is Bolivia’s administrative capital and one of the highest cities in the world, nestled at an altitude of around 3,650 meters (11,975 feet) in a deep valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Known for its dramatic geography, vibrant culture, and bustling markets, La Paz offers a unique blend of indigenous traditions and modernity. The city is famous for its steep streets, stunning views, and proximity to some of Bolivia's most iconic natural and historical landmarks.

Top 5 Places in La Paz:

  • Plaza Murillo – The main square of La Paz, surrounded by historical buildings like the Presidential Palace, La Paz Cathedral, and Congress Building. It’s the heart of the city and offers a glimpse into its political and cultural heritage.
  • Witches' Market (Mercado de las Brujas) – Located near Plaza San Francisco, this market is a must-visit for its array of traditional potions, herbs, and charms used in indigenous rituals. It's also a great place to pick up unique souvenirs like alpaca wool products.
  • Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) – Just outside the city, this surreal landscape features unique rock formations that resemble the surface of the moon. It's a popular spot for hiking and photography, with a landscape unlike anything else in the world.
  • Mi Teleférico – The world’s highest urban cable car system, offering breathtaking views of La Paz as it connects different neighborhoods across the steep valley. The ride provides a unique perspective of the city’s geography and landscape.
  • Tiananmen Square (Calle Jaén) – One of the most picturesque streets in La Paz, lined with colonial-era houses and museums. It’s home to some of the best-preserved buildings and is an ideal place to learn about the city’s history.

Another fabulous trip!

Rey has booked several domestic and international trips for me over the years. Each time the experience was fantastic. Rey is not only a knowledgeable and experienced travel agent, he is patient with groups and always provides stellar customer service. The resorts are always fabulous and his recommendations on what to do when we arrive at our destinations make my vacations more enjoyable. I’ve counted on Rey to book fabulous vacations for over 10 years and he always delivers the best. I’ve always enjoyed the individual attention and care Rey provides his clients. He understands the apprehension that comes along with trying new places and is thorough and accommodating as a result. He’s also great at making suggestions on future vacations and I’ve never been disappointed when I follow his suggestions. Rey will remain my travel confidante for many years to come. He’s the best, hands down!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
