River cruises are NOT for old people

The most common question I get is, "What is your favorite trip?" I always say it's like picking a favorite child. I loved all of them, for one reason or another. River cruising is very overlooked for traveling in Europe in a short time that covers a lot of ground with no packing and upacking. I love waking up in a new town, right in the downtown port and getting up early and getting a cup of coffee on the dock. All meals all included, so I go back and get a good breakfast before my first, probably complimentary, tour begins. Most of them are walking tours, so the idea this trip is for older people is off base. I typically walk 5-7 miles on a river boat day. There are no frills like a casino or Vegas style entertainment and there are only about 200 on the boat. So, if you don't like crowds, you will just feel like you are in a boutique hotel. You glide along the river and will never see a white cap. I get very seasick and I can be on a river boat, but not a fishing boat. I have sailed the Danube and the Rhine. I have several more I plan to go on as well. I have sailed on two different river cruise lines and they can vary quite a bit. Don't delay. Grab your favorite people and get on a river, you'll thank me!
