Club Med- Cancun- Pleasant Surprise

In 2021, we went to Cancun Mexico for 2 weeks, stayed at 4 different resorts and visited 16 others.  Club Med Cancun was our first stop and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience.

Club Med is now a family friendly resort with adult only areas.  They had a lot of great activities including water aerobics, archery, and even trapeze lessons.  Not all of their locations have the trapeze but they have a circus school at one and the trapeze.  They even taught water skiing there.

As a person with food allergies, i found it very easy to communicate my allergies and to avoid those foods.  I was concerned that this would be a problem as one of my allergies is to hot peppers, a common food in Mexico.

Their buffet was in use but the staff members served us what we wanted.  We found the food to be fresh and there was variety in the daily menus.  They have two buffets on property and two specialty restaurants.  We did eat at the steak restaurant.  It is an affordable restaurant but you do need to have reservations.  The specialty restaurants are an additional cost.

We were there during an especially difficult time with seaweed.  Even beaches that rarely get seaweed were inundated.  We saw how Club Med worked very hard every morning cleaning up the beach with a backhoe and a dump truck.

Our room had a lot of space, plenty of room for our things and it was very comfortable.  We had a cute little balcony next to our friend who was in the next room.  

We were at the resort for 3 nights but wish we had been there longer.  It would have been real fun doing the archery.  We did a nice little tour of the resort with the resort sales manager and had an opportunity to check out the kids club.  It was absolutely adorable and looked like a lot of fun for the kids.  We did see the kids club counselors playing in the pool with the kids earlier in the day and saw how much the kids loved being in those activities.
