I have firsthand experience exploring this beautiful Caribbean island, and Puerto Rico is a destination I truly enjoy helping travelers discover. Having traveled to Puerto Rico myself, I have experienced many of the things that make the island so special—from its rich history and vibrant culture to its beautiful beaches, incredible food, and unique adventures. Because I have personally experienced the destination, I can offer more than just a list of things to see and do. I can help travelers decide what is actually worth their time and how to build a trip that fits the way they want to travel.
One of my favorite areas to explore is Old San Juan. Walking through the colorful cobblestone streets, surrounded by brightly painted buildings, historic plazas, local shops, restaurants, and centuries-old architecture, makes you feel like you have stepped into another time. The historic forts are a major highlight, especially Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal. Exploring the fortifications and learning about the role they played in protecting the island gives you a completely different appreciation for Puerto Rico's history. La Fortaleza is another beautiful historic landmark and one of the many places that make Old San Juan such a memorable destination.
And no visit to Old San Juan would be complete without stopping at Barrachina, which is famous for claiming to be the birthplace of the Piña Colada. Whether you are there for the history, the atmosphere, or simply to enjoy a refreshing drink, it is a fun stop to include while exploring the city.
Puerto Rico is also a fantastic destination for food lovers. One of the things I enjoy most about traveling is experiencing the local food, and Puerto Rico has so many traditional dishes and flavors that are worth seeking out. I especially enjoy recommending places where travelers can experience authentic Puerto Rican cuisine rather than simply eating at familiar chain restaurants. One of the dishes I always recommend trying is mofongo, a traditional Puerto Rican favorite made with mashed fried plantains and served with delicious options such as shrimp, chicken, or pork. From casual local restaurants to more upscale dining, Puerto Rico offers an incredible variety of culinary experiences.
Of course, Puerto Rico is also known for its beautiful beaches, but there is so much more to the island than simply spending a week at a resort. Depending on a traveler's interests, I can help incorporate activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, boating, rainforest adventures, horseback riding, and exploring some of the island's smaller towns and natural attractions. Puerto Rico is a destination where you can be as relaxed or as adventurous as you want.
My goal as a travel advisor is to use my personal experience to help clients discover the Puerto Rico that best fits their travel style. For some travelers, that may mean relaxing at a beautiful beach resort and enjoying great restaurants. For others, it may mean spending time exploring Old San Juan, visiting historic forts, experiencing the local culture, or getting out on the water for an adventure. I enjoy putting those pieces together and helping travelers create a trip that feels personal rather than like a one-size-fits-all vacation.
Puerto Rico offers an incredible combination of history, culture, food, beaches, and adventure, all in one destination. Because I have experienced the island firsthand, I can help travelers make the most of their time there and discover the places and experiences that make Puerto Rico so special. I would love the opportunity to help you experience the island for yourself!
