I have been cruising for many years, and one of the things I love most about cruising is the opportunity to explore several destinations in one trip. For me, a cruise is a great way to “jump around” the Caribbean and get a feel for different islands without having to choose just one destination. You can wake up in a different place each morning, experience something new during the day, and return to the comfort of the ship in the evening. It gives you the chance to see a lot while still enjoying the relaxing experience of being on a cruise.
One of the things I enjoy most about cruising is that every island has its own personality. Some destinations immediately catch your attention with beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water, while others stand out because of their history, culture, shopping, food, or unique excursions. Even though a cruise port visit may only last several hours, I enjoy getting off the ship and exploring as much as I can. Sometimes that means finding a great beach, taking a sightseeing tour, exploring a historic area, trying local food, or simply walking around and getting a feel for the destination.
Over the years, I have visited ports that left me wishing I had just one more day to explore. There are so many beautiful Caribbean destinations where a few hours simply isn't enough! In fact, some of my favorite cruise experiences have been discovering a place that I knew immediately I wanted to come back to. A cruise can give you that first introduction to an island and help you decide whether it is somewhere you would like to return for a longer vacation.
That is one of the reasons I think cruising is such a great way to explore the Caribbean. Instead of spending an entire vacation in one location without knowing whether it is the right fit for you, a cruise allows you to sample several destinations. You may discover a new favorite island, find an excursion you never expected to enjoy, or realize that a particular destination deserves a return visit. For travelers who are trying to decide where they want to spend a future beach vacation, resort stay, or longer Caribbean getaway, cruising can be a great first step.
My experience has also taught me that choosing the right cruise is about much more than simply picking a ship. The itinerary, number of ports, length of time in each destination, cruise line, ship, excursions, and overall style of the vacation can all make a difference. Some travelers want a relaxing cruise with plenty of time to enjoy the ship, while others want an itinerary packed with ports and opportunities to explore. Families, couples, groups of friends, and first-time cruisers can all have very different ideas about what makes the perfect cruise.
I enjoy helping travelers think through those choices and find an itinerary that matches what they actually want from their vacation. If you are interested in beaches and water activities, I can help you focus on itineraries that offer those experiences. If history, culture, food, sightseeing, or adventure are more important, there are Caribbean itineraries that can provide a completely different experience. And if you simply want to relax, enjoy the ship, and let someone else handle the details, there are plenty of options for that too.
I also believe that excursions can make a big difference in a cruise experience. You can explore a destination on your own, take a guided tour, enjoy a beach day, get out on the water, or try something completely new. I enjoy helping clients look at those options and decide which experiences are worth adding to their trip based on their interests and the amount of time they have in port.
Whether you're looking for your first Caribbean cruise, want to experience several islands for the first time, are traveling with family or friends, or are ready to return to a favorite destination for a longer stay, I would love to help you plan your next adventure.
For me, cruising is about more than just the ship. It is about waking up somewhere new, stepping off the ship and experiencing a different destination, discovering places you may have never considered visiting, and sometimes finding an island that makes you want to come back and stay longer. My goal is to use my years of cruising experience to help you find the right ship, itinerary, destinations, and experiences to make your next Caribbean adventure one you will remember for years to come.
