Why I Keep Returning to Mexico

Visiting Chichén Itzá

Mexico is the country I have traveled to the most, and it is a destination I will always return to for its rich culture, incredible cuisine, beautiful beaches, and fascinating history. Every visit feels different, and I always find something new to experience and explore.

I have visited Mexico City more than 10 times and consider it one of the most exciting and rewarding cities in the world. I love the energy of the city and the endless opportunities to explore its neighborhoods, museums, architecture, and unique food scene. The National Museum of Anthropology is one of the top museums anywhere, and I especially enjoy spending time in Chapultepec Park, walking along Paseo de la Reforma, and exploring the neighborhoods of Roma and Condesa. I have stayed at some of the city’s best hotels and can provide expert recommendations to match your preferences.

One of my favorite nearby experiences is visiting the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacán, which never fail to leave an impression. It’s an amazing site that is worth a visit in and of itself.

The Riviera Maya is another region I return to often. Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation, vibrant nightlife, exceptional dining, or cultural experiences, there is something for every traveler. Cancun offers a wide variety of resorts and entertainment, while Playa del Carmen has a lively and walkable atmosphere with easy access to nearby Cozumel.

For a quieter getaway, I really enjoyed my time in Akumal, where snorkeling and relaxed beach days were some of the highlights of the trip. Tulum stands out for its beautiful coastline, impressive Mayan ruins, and upscale resort scene. And finally, Chichén Itzá is my favorite site to visit in the region. It’s well worth the trip to experience the history and scale of the site in person!

Cozumel remains one of my favorite places for scuba diving, with crystal clear water and excellent reefs suitable for all experience levels. It was my first place to experience ocean scuba diving and still remains at the top of my list for dive destinations.

On the opposite coast, Cabo San Lucas impressed me with its dramatic desert landscapes meeting the Pacific Ocean, creating a completely different geographic landscape of Mexico. It has numerous luxury resorts and endless stretches of pristine beaches.
