Mexico is one of those destinations that can be whatever you need it to be: relaxing, adventurous, romantic, celebratory, or all of the above in one trip. It’s a place I find myself recommending often because it offers so much variety while still feeling accessible, beautiful, and full of life.
Whether it’s sipping margaritas by the ocean, exploring local markets, taking a boat out for the day, or celebrating a major life moment with your favorite people, Mexico has a way of making travel feel joyful and memorable. It’s a destination that blends luxury with culture so effortlessly, making it just as appealing for a romantic honeymoon as it is for a lively group getaway.
Riviera Maya, Tulum & Cabo: Beaches, Luxury & Romantic Escapes
Tulum offers a more boutique, bohemian feel with luxury hotels, wellness retreats, beach clubs, and that slower, more aesthetic kind of coastal travel. It’s especially popular for couples, honeymooners, and travelers who want something that feels romantic and curated. Think rooftop dinners, private cenote swims, and beach clubs that turn into sunset dinners by the ocean.
Nearby, Playa del Carmen adds more energy with nightlife, shopping, and easy access to excursions like snorkeling, cenotes, catamaran tours, and ferry trips to Cozumel. On the west coast, Cabo San Lucas offers a completely different kind of luxury, desert landscapes meeting the ocean, upscale resorts, incredible restaurants, and some of the best group-trip energy for celebrations and destination events.
Honeymoons:
Mexico is one of my favorite destinations for planning honeymoons because it offers that perfect balance of romance, luxury, and ease. It feels special without needing complicated travel days, and there are so many beautiful options depending on the kind of honeymoon experience you want.
For couples looking for luxury and privacy, places like Tulum and the Riviera Maya offer stunning beachfront resorts, private villas, spa experiences, and those slow, romantic days where the only plan is enjoying where you are. Think candlelit dinners by the ocean, private cenote swims, couples massages, and sunset catamaran sails. For something a little more lively, Cabo San Lucas blends upscale resorts with incredible dining, nightlife, and dramatic ocean views—perfect for couples who want both relaxation and a little celebration mixed in.
I also love places like Puerto Vallarta or Sayulita for couples who want something with a little more charm and local culture woven into the experience. Boutique hotels, walkable towns, amazing food, and beautiful beaches create a honeymoon that feels both romantic and memorable.
What makes Mexico such a strong honeymoon destination is how customizable it is. Whether you want barefoot luxury, adventure-filled days, or a slower, intimate escape, it can be tailored to feel personal to the couple, not just another resort vacation.
Destination Weddings:
Mexico is one of my favorite places to plan destination weddings because it makes the entire experience feel beautiful and surprisingly stress-free.
Places like Sayulita, Riviera Maya, Cabo, and Puerto Vallarta all offer incredible wedding settings, whether you want beachfront luxury, boutique charm, or a more intimate villa-style celebration.
What makes Mexico so ideal is the balance of convenience and experience. Guests feel like they’re getting a true vacation, while couples get stunning venues, amazing food, and beautiful scenery without needing to travel halfway across the world.
Whether it’s an intimate wedding for close family and friends or a larger resort celebration, Mexico creates the kind of setting people remember forever.
Bachelorette Trips:
Mexico is also one of my top recommendations for bachelor/achelorette parties because it gives you the perfect mix of fun, luxury, and flexibility.
Whether it’s rooftop dinners in Tulum, pool days in Cabo, beach clubs in Cancun, or a more laid-back surf town vibe in Sayulita, there are so many ways to tailor the trip to the group. Some groups want nightlife and champagne-filled weekends, while others want wellness retreats, yoga, beach mornings, and a slower girls’ getaway and Mexico can do both beautifully.I love helping plan these trips because the best bachelorettes feel effortless: beautiful boutique stays, great dinners, fun excursions, and enough flexibility for everyone to enjoy it their own way. The goal is always making it feel elevated and special, without feeling overly complicated.
Cruises: Easy Escapes with Big Experiences
Mexico is also one of the best cruise destinations, especially for travelers leaving from the West Coast.
Cruises to places like Ensenada, Cabo, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta make for easy, exciting getaways, whether it’s a quick long weekend or a full celebration trip.I’ve always loved cruises for group travel because they simplify so much. Everyone gets the fun of multiple destinations without the stress of constant packing, transfers, or complicated logistics.
