About Me

The Ha Giang motorbike Loop
The Ha Giang motorbike Loop

Vietnam is one of those destinations that stays with you long after you leave. It’s vibrant, layered, and full of contrast, where bustling cities, peaceful countryside, and dramatic landscapes all come together in a way that feels incredibly immersive.

What stood out most to me while traveling through Vietnam was how personal everything felt. Whether it was sharing meals with locals, navigating busy streets, or waking up in remote villages, every experience felt connected to the culture in a meaningful way.

Hanoi: Energy, Culture & First Impressions

Most journeys begin in Hanoi, and it’s an experience right from the start. The city is busy, chaotic, and full of life, but in a way that quickly becomes part of the charm.

Walking through the Old Quarter, you’re surrounded by street food vendors, scooters weaving through traffic, and small shops lining the streets. One of my favorite things to do here was simply wander, try different foods, and sit at a tiny café with a Vietnamese coffee, watching the energy of the city unfold around me.

Sapa: Homestays & Local Connection

In the north of Vietnam, Sapa offers a completely different experience—lush, mountainous, and deeply rooted in local culture.Staying in a homestay here was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Walking through the villages, meeting local families, and seeing daily life up close creates a level of connection you don’t often get while traveling.

Days are spent hiking through rice terraces, passing through small communities, and taking in some of the most peaceful and beautiful landscapes in the country. It’s the kind of place that slows you down and reminds you why you travel in the first place.

Ha Giang Loop: The Ultimate Adventure

One of the absolute highlights of my time in Vietnam was doing the Ha Giang Loop, a 3–5 day motorbike journey through the northern mountains. This is easily one of the best ways to see the country. The scenery is constantly changing, winding roads, dramatic cliffs, valleys, and remote villages, and every turn feels more impressive than the last.

Whether you’re riding yourself or going with a guide, the experience is unforgettable. It’s adventurous, a little challenging at times, but so worth it. This was one of those moments where I felt completely present, just taking in the landscape and the experience as it unfolded.

Halong Bay: Iconic & Serene

Ha Long Bay is one of the most iconic landscapes in Vietnam, and it truly lives up to the hype.Cruising through the bay, surrounded by limestone karsts rising out of the water, feels almost surreal.

Whether you’re kayaking, swimming, or simply relaxing on the boat, it’s a peaceful contrast to the busier parts of the trip.An overnight cruise is the best way to experience it, allowing you to fully take in the quiet beauty, especially during sunrise and sunset.

Hoi An: Charm, Food & Slower Living

Hoi An quickly became one of my favorite places in Vietnam. The town has a completely different energy—slower, more relaxed, and incredibly charming.Known for its lantern-lit streets, riverside setting, and amazing food scene, Hoi An is the perfect place to unwind. You can spend your days exploring local markets, taking cooking classes, getting clothes custom-made, or biking out to nearby rice fields and beaches. At night, the town transforms with glowing lanterns lining the streets and reflecting on the water, it’s one of the most beautiful and memorable atmospheres.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon): History & Modern Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, still commonly referred to as Saigon, offers a completely different energy from the rest of the country. It’s fast-paced, modern, and constantly moving, with a mix of historic landmarks and a growing, contemporary feel

What I loved most about Saigon was the energy, it feels alive at all hours. The streets are filled with motorbikes, food stalls, and people going about their day, creating that same organized chaos you feel in Hanoi, but with a slightly more modern edge.

It’s also an incredible place for food. From street-side pho and bánh mì to more elevated dining experiences, the food scene here feels endless.

What makes this city so interesting is how it blends past and present so seamlessly. It’s high-energy, a little overwhelming at times, but in the best way, and it adds another layer to the overall Vietnam experience.

Why Vietnam Is So Special

Vietnam is one of those destinations that offers more than just beautiful places, it offers experiences that feel real, personal, and deeply connected to the culture.

It’s perfect for:

  • Adventure travelers and backpack-style trips
  • Culture seekers and immersive travel experiences
  • Food lovers (the street food scene is incredible)
  • Travelers looking for something more authentic and less polished

What I loved most about Vietnam was how every part of the journey felt different, yet equally impactful. It’s a place that challenges you a little, slows you down, and ultimately leaves you with memories that feel meaningful and lasting.
