About Me

Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City, Maryland

My recent trip to Ocean City, Maryland reminded me why it’s the ultimate East Coast beach escape. There is a nostalgic charm to the salt air and wooden planks of the boardwalk that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a classic summer postcard.

The Boardwalk & Beyond: I spent my mornings walking the 2.5-mile boardwalk, which is the true heart of the town. There is nothing like the smell of Thrasher’s French Fries in the air, and yes, the local rule is strictly vinegar and salt, no ketchup! These Boardwalk fries are my favorite. You must try these! I made sure to grab a tub of Fisher’s Popcorn for later which is a tasty treat! Then I stopped by Dumser’s Dairyland for a sundae that tasted exactly like a seaside summer should.Along the boardwalk there are arcades that are fun for the whole family. There's also many places to shop and purchase keepsakes.

Along the beach you can see elaborate sandcastle like design structures that are beautiful and kept up with. They are truly a work of art.

Ripley's Believe It or Not: This museum is on the boardwalk and like the book series, it has many optical illusions and oddities for people to see. It's a fun and unique museum to view.

For a bit of a thrill, I headed down to the Inlet at the south end:

Trimper Rides: This historic landmark is a must-see, especially the century-old carousel , and riding the rides is a wonderful way to have some fun.

Jolly Roger at the Pier: I rode the Giant Wheel just as the sun was setting, and the views of the Atlantic were absolutely breathtaking. Take a few good photos while on the Ferris Wheel, I recommend that you take photos while you're here. I've been here many times for family vacations and I adore Ocean City.

Adventure & Nature:One of the best parts of Ocean City is how easy it is to switch from high-energy amusements to quiet nature. I took a short drive to Assateague Island, where I was lucky enough to see the famous wild ponies roaming the dunes. It’s a stunningly beautiful, rugged contrast to the neon lights of the city. You can go into the lighthouse on Assateague Island and see the views from the top of it. I have been up here many times as a kid. I even have a picture with my cousin and sister- we got super sunburned on this trip, so bring suntan lotion.

Frontier Town: Located in Berlin, Maryland not far from Ocean City is a small little town that looks like you've stepped into the wild west. There's actors and staged shoot outs between folks dressed as cowboys and Native Americans. There's camping nearby where you can stay in, if you want more of the western type of vacation. There's cabins and hotels around as well. I've been here as a kid and loved it!

Sports Enthusiasts: People can body board and surf, fly kites, they can go fishing there are nearby boating services that can take you on the water.

Back in town, I explored Northside Park at 125th Street. It’s a massive 58-acre space that’s perfect for a long walk, and if you're there during the holidays, their Winterfest of Lights is a magical walk-through experience.

A Foodie’s Bayside Paradise: While the boardwalk snacks are iconic, the bayside dining is where I found some of my favorite meals.

The Ritual: You can't visit Maryland without a crab feast. I headed to Higgins for some classic steamed blue crabs—it’s a messy, delicious tradition that I look forward to every time. There's also Hoopers which has a buffet all you can eat seafood boil, it's a little pricy but delicious and good to do at least once.

Bayside Vibes: I caught a sunset at Macky’s Bayside Bar & Grill. Sitting with my feet in the sand while enjoying a meal was the perfect way to wind down.

Local Specialty: I also made a stop at Harborside in West OC to try the original Orange Crush,it’s refreshing, citrusy, and a total local staple.

Traveling with My Furry Family members is important and when you can bring pets it makes caring for them easier. Pets are such an integral part of the family, I love how inclusive Ocean City can be. While the beach and boardwalk are reserved for people during the peak summer months, I found that visiting in the off-season (October through April) is a dream for dog owners. I seen some people walk the shoreline with their pups and enjoy the crisp ocean breeze together. Also during the off season activities and things around are much cheaper than during the busy spring and summer months.

During the summer, the 94th Street Dog Playground was a lifesaver for those who have a furry family member, offering a safe, fenced space for some off-leash fun.

Practical Bits:I found that getting around is a breeze. I used the "Coastal Highway Beach Bus" which runs the length of the town, so I didn't have to worry about parking. Whether I was playing a round of dinosaur-themed mini-golf at Old Pro or browsing the Tanger Outlets for some deals, Ocean City delivered a trip that was both relaxing and packed with fun. It’s a place that truly welcomes everyone, and I already have my next visit penciled in.

My cousins and I took a Family Trip to Carins Austraillia and we had so much fun. Fun doesn't begin to describe it. We rode in a helicopter and saw the views and saw the land from above which was spectacular. We scuba dived and saw the marine life in the Austrailia waters. On the land we rode the Ferris Wheels and met locals around the area. It was an amazing bonding expierence. Krystal told us to check out Carins Markets and we went to local fairs that had works of art and souvineers to remember our travels. We had an amazing adventure and Krystal was so professional. She is our chosen advisor for life!

Krystal made my trip effortless. She put me in a Hotel with a Casino and me and a few buds booked our travel through her and she is fantastic. We gambled. I got back more than I put in. We went on rides at the top of the Strat, ate good food. Met some cool people and Krystal arranged for a personal welcome at the Hotel and she was just wonderful to work with. She is an amazing advisor!

Ferris Wheel in Ocean City

Ocean City Family Fun

I wanted to start with a spot where I've spent many summers growing up as a kid, and taking many family vacations. Ocean City has a lot to offer families. I loved going for the food personally. Getting some crisp, hot, boardwalk fries always made me smile. You can top them off with vinegar and salt, or Ketchup, whatever you prefer, and Hoopers. ...

Navigating The Big Apple, New York City
Krystal has been an excellent Travel Advisor,& she will advise all the trips I go on from here on out. I decided to drive to NYC on a whim & it was the most cost efficient way to get there, so I rented a car from Enterprise. Once I got there I checked into my Hotel, and stayed in The Marriott Marquis. A modern hotel in Broadway, New York I had a clean and cozy room that had breathtaking views of the city surrounding the hotel. At Krystal's recommendation I went to Summit One Vanderbilt, its an amazing observation deck, and has a stunning view of the city, the Empire Sate Building is in site and is an excellent place to get on the platform & get some photos. I ate at Los Tacos No. 1 in Chelsea Market and I can't forget the Taco's that Krystal suggested, and walking the High Line and The American Museum of National History was spectacular. She pointed out shopping areas and places like walking through China Town, and seeing the Statue of Liberty. It's something you must see. I had fun!
