About Me

Costa Rica
Costa Rica

For me, the most memorable trips aren't measured by how many landmarks you check off a list; they're defined by the stories you bring home. The sunrise earned after a challenging hike, the family-run guesthouse that becomes the highlight of a journey, the unexpected conversation with a local guide, or the thrill of stepping outside your comfort zone to experience a destination in a completely new way. Over the years, I have built my expertise through a lifetime of seeking out extraordinary adventures across the globe.

From active family vacations to bucket-list expeditions, I've discovered that the most meaningful travel blends adventure, culture, and authentic connection. Closer to home, I've explored some of the most spectacular landscapes in the United States through active travel. I've biked and hiked my way through Hawaii's islands; from the dramatic cliffs and lush trails of Kauai to the volcanic landscapes of the Big Island and the stunning coastlines of Maui; discovering that adventure doesn't have to mean sacrificing comfort or meaningful family time.

In Slovenia, our family embraced adventure at every turn: canyoning through crystal-clear gorges, whitewater rafting, hiking alpine trails, and immersing ourselves in one of Europe's most underrated outdoor destinations.

In Morocco, I traded mountain trails for desert dunes, riding camels across the Sahara and experiencing the magic of sleeping beneath a blanket of stars. Some of my favorite experiences have come through cultural immersion. On a service journey, I stayed with a local family in a village, sharing meals, daily routines, and conversations that offered a deeper understanding of life beyond the tourist trail.

In Ubud, Indonesia, I explored rice terraces and villages by bike, connecting with the rhythms of everyday life in Bali.

I have trekked the legendary W Circuit in Patagonia, where each day brought glacier views, rugged peaks, and windswept landscapes unlike anywhere else on Earth. Evenings were spent in unique eco-domes, proving that special lodging can become part of the adventure itself.

Croatia offered a different kind of wonder; from exploring spectacular underground caverns to setting out on sunset cruises near Rovinj in search of spinner dolphins dancing in the Adriatic Sea. Central America has long been another source of inspiration.

I've hiked through the misty cloud forests of Monteverde, zip-lined through the rainforest canopy near Arenal, rafted the wild Pacuare River and stayed overnight deep in the jungle, and experienced the extraordinary biodiversity of Corcovado National Park. I've watched the sun rise over ancient landscapes in Guatemala before crossing into Belize for a family farm stay that provided a glimpse into local traditions and rural life.

These experiences have shaped the way I design travel. I understand the logistics of balancing activity with downtime, adventure with comfort, and iconic highlights with hidden gems. Whether you're planning a multigenerational journey, an active family vacation, a milestone celebration, or an expedition that pushes your boundaries, I bring firsthand knowledge of the experiences that transform a trip into a lifelong memory.

I believe the best adventures don't just take you somewhere new; they change the way you see the world. My passion is helping travelers discover those moments: the paths less traveled, the extraordinary experiences they didn't know were possible, and the stories they'll be telling for years to come.

Trip of a lifetime
Reviewed By Semery - Seattle, WA | Traveled to India | Central Asia
In 2004 Archana was recommended by a coworker to help me plan a trip to India with my husband and two children (adopted from India and then young adults). I told Archana what I thought we wanted to do and see and she arranged the trip, including an amazing driver for two weeks who drove us all over Rajasthan. We also stayed at wonderful properties, had great guides everywhere. The entire three weeks was a trip of a lifetime that we still talk about 22 years later. The entire three weeks was without a hitch, all thanks to Archana’s careful planning for our family.
Archana Bhat responded
"Sandy! What a trip that was and an inspiration to so many more trips to Rajasthan. I hope I can plan another trip in the future for you. Thank you for the thoughtful comments!"

Not your ‘cookie-cutter’ travel agent (Europe and Asia)
Reviewed By jG - Newport, RI | Traveled to Vietnam | East and Southeast Asia
Archana is a travel agent who clearly understands what makes a trip feel special—fun, seamless, and thoughtfully curated. Our itinerary included destinations across Europe and Asia: Vietnam, Venice, Slovenia, and Italy, and each location felt well planned rather than “cookie-cutter.” What stood out most was how she built experiences around the destination. We enjoyed dinners on castle rooftops that added a touch of elegance without feeling over-planned, and the overall pacing was just right. In Slovenia, Archana arranged guided activities that were genuinely memorable—especially the waterfall experience, which also included canyoning. The added adventure made it feel immersive and exciting, and it didn’t feel stressful or rushed. In Vietnam, Archana went beyond the usual tourist stops by organizing cooking classes in private homes. That detail made the experience feel authentic and personal, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. It also felt thoughtfully arranged, from timing to logistics, so we could fully focus on the experience. Across all the trips, Archana’s strength is in the details and the smooth execution. She planned a mix of culture, scenery, and elevated dining, while still keeping everything practical. If you’re looking for a travel agent who can turn destinations into experiences—complete with standout rooftop dining, guided adventures, and immersive activities—Archana is an excellent choice.

The best 25th Anniversary trip ever!
Reviewed By Archana'sFan - Seattle | Traveled to Bora Bora | French Polynesia | South Pacific
Archana planned a 25th Wedding Anniversary trip for me, and it was incredible! We went to Moorea and Bora Bora, swam with sharks and stingrays, ate the most amazing poisson cru, and did the best hikes on the Island based on her recs. It was the right mix of activities and relaxation. We started in Moorea and ended in the luxurious Westin in Bora Bora. Spending 4 days in Bora Bora was a dream come true, living up to all the imagery of a South Pacific vacation. I can't wait to go back!

"SK! You will have to try the other islands or maybe Fiji next! Thank you for your review!"

The honeymoon we never had!
Reviewed By guidibird - Redmond, WA | Traveled to French Polynesia | South Pacific
Archana was absolutely key in helping us plan a glorious vacation in French Polynesia, including stays in Moorea, Bora Bora and Tikehau a small atoll where we stayed in an overwater bungalow. It was unlike any other vacation we've ever had, and we will never forget it. I also think we will never top it. We like to think of it as our honeymoon, because we never had one after getting married, and we had a fabulous time.

Passion and perfection!
Reviewed By RoABoat - Seattle, WA | Traveled to Iceland | Europe
Five stars doesn't feel like enough for Archana! I've had the privilege of traveling with her — including an unforgettable trip to Iceland — and she is the real deal. An adventurer at heart, she channels that same energy and passion into every itinerary she creates. What sets Archana apart is her commitment to experiencing a destination authentically: getting to know the community, supporting local businesses, and uncovering the kinds of places you'd never find on your own. Her love of travel isn't just professional — it's deeply personal, and you feel it in every detail. Highest possible recommendation!
