About Me

They say you haven’t truly seen Mexico until you’ve seen it from three different perspectives: from the seat of an ATV deep in the jungle, from the calm blue of a championship green, and from 500 feet in the air above the Caribbean Sea.

I’m Darrell Allsop, and I specialize in turning standard Mexico trips into deeply personal, immersive experiences. I don't just book hotels; I curate adventures. My philosophy is simple: travel should be more than a change of scenery, it should be a change of pace. Whether you’re looking for a high-octane excursion or a high-end luxury retreat, I’ve spent years "testing" these destinations so that your only job is to show up and enjoy.

The Thrill of the Yucatan: Parasailing and Off-Roading I believe the best stories start where the pavement ends. One of my most frequent recommendations for travelers headed to the Riviera Maya is to get off the resort grounds and into the heart of the jungle. I’ve personally navigated the muddy trails and limestone paths of the Mayan jungle on four-wheelers, and there is nothing quite like the rush of weaving through tropical foliage to arrive at a hidden, crystal-clear cenote for a midday swim.

If the jungle is about the "earth," then Cancun is about the "air." I’ve soared over the Hotel Zone while parasailing, and I can tell you that seeing the distinct "Gatorade blue" of the Nichupté Lagoon on one side and the deep turquoise of the ocean on the other is a perspective you’ll never forget. When my clients ask about excursions, I don’t just hand them a brochure, I tell them which boat captains are the safest, which views are the best for photography, and how to time their flight to catch the perfect coastal breeze.

The Golfer’s Paradise: Riviera MayaFor those who find their adrenaline on the golf course, the Riviera Maya is my second home. I’ve golfed on some of the most prestigious courses in the world right here in Mexico. There is a specific magic to playing a round where the jungle canopy serves as your gallery and the ocean spray cools the air.

I understand the nuances of a golf vacation: the logistics of transporting clubs, the best resorts for "stay and play" packages, and which courses (like El Camaleón) offer that perfect balance of challenge and Caribbean beauty. I help my clients navigate the local golf scene so they spend less time at the pro shop counter and more time on the tee box.

The Three Pillars of My Expertise Having spent extensive time in Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, and the Riviera Maya, I’ve categorized my expertise into three distinct styles of travel:

The Coastal Classic (Cancun & Vallarta): Perfect for those who want world-class dining, luxury shopping, and high-energy water sports like parasailing and jet skiing.

The Cultural Soul (Puerto Vallarta & Tulum): For the traveler who wants to wander cobblestone streets, visit local art galleries, and experience the "Boho-chic" eco-resorts where the jungle meets the sand.

The Active Escape (Riviera Maya): The ultimate destination for the "doer" golfing, ATV jungle tours, zip-lining, and exploring the world’s most extensive underground river systems.

Why Book With a Human, Not an Algorithm?

The internet can give you a price, but it can’t give you a perspective. I’ve been the one strapped into the parasail harness; I’ve been the one cleaning the jungle mud off my goggles; and I’ve been the one walking the resorts to check if the "ocean view" is actually blocked by a palm tree.

When we work together, you get:

Vetted Excursions: I only recommend tours (like ATV or Parasailing) that meet high safety standards and offer genuine value.

Logistical Mastery: I coordinate your tee times, your airport transfers, and your dinner reservations so your itinerary flows seamlessly.

Peace of Mind: If a tropical storm rolls in or a tour gets canceled, you have a direct line to me. I handle the rebooking and the refunds so you don’t have to.

Let’s Design Your Mexico Story Mexico isn't just a place on a map to me, it’s a collection of moments. It’s the silence of the jungle, the roar of the ATV engine, the "thwack" of a clean drive on the 18th hole, and the peaceful drift of a parasail. Whatever your version of "perfect" looks like, I have the boots-on-the-ground experience to make it a reality. Let’s stop scrolling and start planning.

Your Mexican escape is waiting. Are you ready to dive in?

Key West
Reviewed By Janelle L - Syracuse NY | Traveled to Key West | Florida | USA
Darrell is the man! He gave us a list of hidden gems for the drive down the Overseas Highway that actually made the road trip part of the fun. We definitely found the best key lime pie on the island thanks to his insider tips. The whole trip was just so chill, it felt like time slowed down the second we hit the island. We spent the mornings on the sand and the afternoons ziping around the side streets on a golf cart. It was such a cool way to see the quiet neighborhoods you'd miss in a car. Honestly, Darrell’s advice made the whole trip feel easy and totally legit. Highly recommend!

The Cobble Stones of San Juan Puerto Rico
Reviewed By John S - Henderson NV | Traveled to San Juan | Puerto Rico | Caribbean
Rambling through the blue cobblestone streets of Old San Juan was incredible, especially with the 'secret' history spots Darrell added to our itinerary. We spent our mornings exploring the massive coastal forts and our evenings tucked away in a small salsa club he recommended that felt like a true local haunt. Having his guidance meant we got to experience the vibrant heart of the city and the beautiful island breezes without ever feeling like just another group of tourists.

Punta Cana DR
Reviewed By Angie A - Draper UT | Traveled to Punta Cana | Dominican Republic | Caribbean
We were worried about the typical 'resort bubble' experience, but Darrell helped us find the most pristine, quiet stretches of turquoise water away from the massive crowds. He knew exactly which local spots served the most authentic mofongo and arranged our logistics so we could just focus on the palm trees and white sand. It was the most relaxing tropical escape we’ve ever had, and the personalized touches made all the difference in the world.

The Stars come out in Park City UT
Reviewed By Jeff P - Nashville TN | Traveled to Park City | Utah | USA
Darrell’s local knowledge of the Wasatch Front was a game-changer for our ski trip. He steered us toward the best mid-mountain lodges to avoid the lunch rush and even tipped us off on where to catch the most stunning views of the snow-capped peaks at sunset. It felt less like a vacation and more like a private tour of a world-class winter wonderland, right down to the perfect spot for après-ski drinks on Main Street.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Speed Week at Daytona
Reviewed By Brenda S - Charleston WV | Traveled to Daytona Beach | Florida | USA
We loved the mix of racing history and wide-open beaches that Darrell put together for us. He knew exactly which hotels offered the best views of the Atlantic while still being close to the Speedway action. It was such a relief not having to guess which areas were actually walkable versus just looking good on a map. We honestly felt like we had an old friend showing us all the local shortcuts and best-kept secrets.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
