Vancouver is the city to catch a very special train, the Rocky Mountaineer. Starting the trip in Vancouver is a destination on its own. There are so many things to do in Vancouver, such as walking the Stanley Park Seawall or exploring the Granville Island Market. Taking a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff is a once-in-a-lifetime feeling..The service aboard is first class. They have an observation car and even a car that is open, so you can take it all in without anything obstructing your view.  They will also provide door-to-door luggage service for you, so no lugging your luggage to the train station or to your hotel for the night. Your luggage will magically appear in your room, so when you arrive, you will have what you need. The train portion is a two-day trip, all in the daylight, so there is an overnight in the sweet little town of Kamloops. When you arrive in Banff, it is so picturesque, you won't mind being called a gawker. The shops and restaurants with the Cascade Mountain in perfect view of main street is one of the most beautiful of towns. The next stop is taking a coach to Lake Louise. It is worth it to stay at The Chateau Lake Louise. This hotel sits right on the lake, and there are different options for a meal. The afternoon tea in the Lakeview Lounge is an incredible treat, with a view of the lake. Remember, this is your dream trip, so you can modify how long you are in Vancouver before the train. Banff and Lake Louise can be extended as well. However, this trip is taken it will be well worth the journey and the memories you will make.
