About Me

An atoll of Micronesia.
An atoll of Micronesia.

Micronesia, Tropical Island ParadiseThe Federated States of Micronesia is heaven on earth. I shall share some memories. I was there for five weeks. We flew into Hawaii and stayed overnight. Then we flew to Ponape Micronesia. There was one stop to refuel. I am sharing this, so you know what to expect. The place we stopped was a military base. We were told not to. Did I say not to. Do not leave the plane. I looked out the window. I say a man sitting on what looked like a jeep pointing a huge ugly looking gun at the plane. We got to Ponape. The trip was well worth the nerve-racking experience. We were greeted with a traditional festival. It began with a traditional woman’s choir wearing traditional attire. Warning, the traditional attire is that the older women were topless. Then we proceeded into a building. There were four big flat rocks on top of stones that were like legs of the table of flat rock. The men began the process of the traditional light sedative drink called sakau.  It is made with the roots of the kava kava plant. The skin of the root is taken off. Then it is chopped into small pieces. Here is where the fun part starts. The root is then banged with rocks in rhythm. Then a group of women dressed in what reminded me of Tahitian dancers came out into the middle of the floor. They danced to the rhythm of the beating rocks. The entire experience was soothing. When traveling, you will find people do and eat different things. We then circled this huge bed of rocks that were heated by a fine underneath. A live pig was brought out. They slaughtered the pig. I caution you, there was a lot of blood. I have more respect for animals. They skinned the pig and took the entrails out like they prepared a fish. They put the whole big on the bed of rocks. Remember, people do and eat different things around the world. On each side of the pig was placed two dead dogs. The pig and two dogs were roasted on the rocks. We then had dinner. I ate this ground meat.  I did not know what it was. I do not know if it was dog or not.A must in Micronesia is to go snorkeling. The water is very clear. We saw many colorful fish. I saw a solid blue starfish. We took a motorized boat ride to another island from Ponape. I looked at the stern, back, of the boat. Then I saw in the distance a huge whale’s tail. Keep in mind this was a motorboat like bass boat flopping in the waves. I then had an experience I have never had prior or after this event. I literally became speechless because I became so excited that I saw a huge whale’s tail. I turned to the person next to me and tried to tell her, “There is a whale’s tale over there.” No words came out. I could not talk. I just nudged her and pointed. Unfortunately, the rest is history. There was no whale’s tale anymore. When we got to the other island we did more snorkeling. We also climbed this huge hill. At the top of the hill was a waterfall. It was about twenty feet down to a pool of water. We jumped in the pool of water. (Don’t try this without a guide who knows the depth of the pool.)If you are planning to go to a tropical island, choose Micronesia. Choose Michael Behm to be your travel agent. My goal is to help, encourage and to give you smiles. Carlisle Travel provides me with the means to achieve that goal.

Finally, my family went to Disney.
Reviewed By Pual and Laurel - Chicago, IL | Traveled to Orlando | Florida | USA
My family always wanted to go to Disneyworld in Orlando. It finally happened. We also went to the everglades. I like how Michael thoroughly questioned what we wanted. He wanted to know how we would know that the vacation would be a dream vacation. Michael, you banged it out of the ballpark. Great Job.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Adventure meets city life.
Reviewed By Brian - Bloomington, IL | Traveled to Richmond | Virginia | USA
I was planning to visit my friends near the Richmond area. I was wondering if I could take a little vacation that combined city life with an adventure tour. I noticed Michael lived in Richmond. I gave him a call. He was able to meet city life with adventure with flying colors. I flew into Richmond airport. Got a car rental. Then I went to the Holiday Inn. I the next day I rented a kayak in Richmond at the RVA Paddle Sport Store in Richmond. I drove to the Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area. The view was breath taking. I set up camp on a hill overlooking the river. I caught and released some fish. I drove back to Richmond Holiday Inn. I began the city life portion of my trip. I took in a Richmond Flying Squirrel minor league baseball game and a show at the Altria Theater. I had fine dining at the Lemaire restaurant. I never thought adventure and city life could be combined. Thanks to Michael it was. Who are you going to call for a travel agent. Call Michael Behm

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a beautiful city.
Reviewed By Valerie and Raymond - Greenville, NC | Traveled to Milwaukee | Wisconsin | USA
For some reason my husband likes the Milwaukee Brewers. For our fortieth wedding anniversary, I wanted to take my husband to see a Brewers game. I was not familiar with Milwaukee. I saw that Michael lived in Illinois. I contacted him. Michael made all the airplane, hotels, and car rental reservations. I asked him for suggestions. He suggested the Safehouse restaurant, and to take in a show at the Riverside Theaters. These were excellent suggestions. The show was great and Safehouse was an experience I have never had before. By the way the Brewers won. My husband thourghouly enjoyed the trip. I get great happiness when my husband is happy. Thank you, Michael.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

A dream vacation to the Outer banks
Reviewed By Irene and Thrall - Chicago, IL | Traveled to Outer Banks | North Carolina | USA
My husband and I have been talking about outer banks for a long time. We kept seeing people wearing shirts that said, “Outer banks”. We finally took the plunge. We noticed Michael lives in North Carolina. So, we picked him. His first message was, “Describe your dream trip to North Carolina. I will do everything I can to make that dream come true,” Let me tell you Michael did just that. He made all the hotel reservations, the flight reservations, and the car rental reservations. He recommended that we fly into Norfolk airport from Chicago. We stayed at the Marriot Hotel. We essentially made a loop through the Outer banks. We visited the Backbay Wildlife refuge for some bird watching and hiking, Then we went to the Wright Memorial Museum. After that, we went to Kitty Hawk kites. We purchased two kites. We went across the street to Jockey Ridge State Park to fly the kites. We also learned how to hang-glide. We went to the Avon fishing pier to do some fishing. We then drove to the south of the outer banks and took the Hatteras Ocracoke ferry and then to Cedar Island. We returned to Norfolk Airport. I highly suggest Michael to be your next travel agent.

Bally’s Evansville, Indiana Cascino and Hotels, a must do if you like casinos.
Reviewed By Karen and Hershey - Lawrence, KS | Traveled to Indiana | USA
My husband and I like to go to the Casinos throughout the United States. I found Michael on the website. I contacted Michael to see if he was aware of any good Casinos in the Midwest. Michael recommended Bally’s Evansville Casino. What a great suggestion. We flew in from Tuscan Arizona. We flew into Evansville Regional Airport. We rented an Enterprise car rental. We stayed at Bally’s hotel. Inside the Casino is Cavanaugh’s Restaurant. The food and customer service was exquisite. We had a wonderful time. All the reservations were made by Michael. I highly recommend Michael as your travel agent.
