Nara Japan houses largest sitting Bronze Buddha

Places in Japan I visited included: Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Nagasaki, Hiroshima and Nagoya. I guided my parent for two weeds and planned my own excursions throughout Japan. A must have is the Japanese Rail Pass https://www.jrpass.com/ The transportation ticket must be purchased prior to going to Japan. At time of writing the cost is 7-day JR Pass: $344.00. Let me give you some reasons why Japan would be a great place to travel to. “World population and review” rates Japan as the ninth safest country in the World. All Japanese students are required to study English throughout their education. The people of Japan are very kind and always willing to help. One can travel throughout Japan and not need to rent a car because Japan has one of the best public transportation in the world. I do not recommend driving in Japan for two reasons. The people of Japan drive on the left-hand side of the road. Everything is kilometers per hour rather than miles per hour. There is a plethora of festivals throughout Japan throughout the year. Research the festivals and plan around the festivals. I can guide you to the dream of a lifetime in Japan. I can say that because I lived in Japan for nine months. I studied Japanese language, culture and arts at Nanzan University in Nagoya Japan. I also traveled the entire mainland Japan by bus or train. I stayed in hotels, visited the historical parks and places, dined in the restaurants, frequented the bars and hiked in the mountains. I recommend staying in the smaller hotels in the smaller cities. You will feel you have traveled back in time. Take off your shoes at the entrance of the hotel and walk on the traditional tatami (straw) floors. Sleep on the futon. (Japanese Bed on the floor.) Some small hotels may have the traditional Japanese toilet. This is like a small porcelain trench in the floor. One must squat to use the bathroom. It may be awkward at first. You will become an expert in a short time. Sit back and take a deep breath. Let us take a journey throughout Japan together via my spectacular memories. As mentioned, I studied at Nanzan University in Nagoya Japan. Everything is clean in Japan including Nagoya. Nagoya is a great city with plenty of shopping, nightlife, theaters and museums.Let us go to Tokyo on our virtual journey together. Imagine yourself going 150-200 miles an hour on the bullet train. You can’t get your head around traveling at this speed because the ride is very smooth. Don’t go to the zoo to see the Pandas. As of January 25, 2026, unfortunately, the Pandas were returned to China. Please research this if things have changed. The national sumo wrestling tournament occurs in January, May and September. See a traditional Japanese play called Kabuki. Traditional Japanese string instruments, deeply rooted in culture, include the 13-stringed koto (a zither, often considered the national instrument), the 3-stringed shamisen (a banjo-like lute), and the biwa (a short-necked lute). These instruments typically use silk or synthetic strings and are central to Gagaku (court music), Kabuki, and folk performances. You will be engulfed in traditional Japanese Culture. Two more traditional towns are Kyoto and Nara which were my favorite places in Japan. A tea ceremony in an old traditional wooden building is a must. Even though it has been a long time ago, I get relaxed just thinking about the tea ceremonies I participated in. A rule to remember, turn the bowl after sipping to make sure the next person does not sip where you sipped. Nara is simply beautiful It is the location of the largest wooden building in the world. Located inside the largest building in the world is the largest sitting bronze Buddhist statue. In the park there are numerous deer who have free range throughout the park. Purchase roasted Chestnuts for yourself and the deer.  The deer are very persistent. No country is perfect. The only time I felt uncomfortable in Japan was when I was around the Japanese Mafia called Yakuza. If you see a group of men dressed in suits, look at their fingers. If a man of the mafia did not do, or did do, what he was  supposed to do, part of a finger is chopped off. Thus, if you see a group of men in suits and one has part of his finger missing, just calmly leave the area. The Japanese Mafia are most notable around strip clubs. I recommend staying away from the sex industry in Japan, Who you going to call when you are thinking about going to Japan? Not Ghostbusters. Call Michael Behm of Carlisle Travel.

Finally, my family went to Disney.
Reviewed By Pual and Laurel - Chicago, IL | Traveled to Orlando | Florida | USA
My family always wanted to go to Disneyworld in Orlando. It finally happened. We also went to the everglades. I like how Michael thoroughly questioned what we wanted. He wanted to know how we would know that the vacation would be a dream vacation. Michael, you banged it out of the ballpark. Great Job.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Adventure meets city life.
Reviewed By Brian - Bloomington, IL | Traveled to Richmond | Virginia | USA
I was planning to visit my friends near the Richmond area. I was wondering if I could take a little vacation that combined city life with an adventure tour. I noticed Michael lived in Richmond. I gave him a call. He was able to meet city life with adventure with flying colors. I flew into Richmond airport. Got a car rental. Then I went to the Holiday Inn. I the next day I rented a kayak in Richmond at the RVA Paddle Sport Store in Richmond. I drove to the Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area. The view was breath taking. I set up camp on a hill overlooking the river. I caught and released some fish. I drove back to Richmond Holiday Inn. I began the city life portion of my trip. I took in a Richmond Flying Squirrel minor league baseball game and a show at the Altria Theater. I had fine dining at the Lemaire restaurant. I never thought adventure and city life could be combined. Thanks to Michael it was. Who are you going to call for a travel agent. Call Michael Behm

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a beautiful city.
Reviewed By Valerie and Raymond - Greenville, NC | Traveled to Milwaukee | Wisconsin | USA
For some reason my husband likes the Milwaukee Brewers. For our fortieth wedding anniversary, I wanted to take my husband to see a Brewers game. I was not familiar with Milwaukee. I saw that Michael lived in Illinois. I contacted him. Michael made all the airplane, hotels, and car rental reservations. I asked him for suggestions. He suggested the Safehouse restaurant, and to take in a show at the Riverside Theaters. These were excellent suggestions. The show was great and Safehouse was an experience I have never had before. By the way the Brewers won. My husband thourghouly enjoyed the trip. I get great happiness when my husband is happy. Thank you, Michael.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

A dream vacation to the Outer banks
Reviewed By Irene and Thrall - Chicago, IL | Traveled to Outer Banks | North Carolina | USA
My husband and I have been talking about outer banks for a long time. We kept seeing people wearing shirts that said, “Outer banks”. We finally took the plunge. We noticed Michael lives in North Carolina. So, we picked him. His first message was, “Describe your dream trip to North Carolina. I will do everything I can to make that dream come true,” Let me tell you Michael did just that. He made all the hotel reservations, the flight reservations, and the car rental reservations. He recommended that we fly into Norfolk airport from Chicago. We stayed at the Marriot Hotel. We essentially made a loop through the Outer banks. We visited the Backbay Wildlife refuge for some bird watching and hiking, Then we went to the Wright Memorial Museum. After that, we went to Kitty Hawk kites. We purchased two kites. We went across the street to Jockey Ridge State Park to fly the kites. We also learned how to hang-glide. We went to the Avon fishing pier to do some fishing. We then drove to the south of the outer banks and took the Hatteras Ocracoke ferry and then to Cedar Island. We returned to Norfolk Airport. I highly suggest Michael to be your next travel agent.

Bally’s Evansville, Indiana Cascino and Hotels, a must do if you like casinos.
Reviewed By Karen and Hershey - Lawrence, KS | Traveled to Indiana | USA
My husband and I like to go to the Casinos throughout the United States. I found Michael on the website. I contacted Michael to see if he was aware of any good Casinos in the Midwest. Michael recommended Bally’s Evansville Casino. What a great suggestion. We flew in from Tuscan Arizona. We flew into Evansville Regional Airport. We rented an Enterprise car rental. We stayed at Bally’s hotel. Inside the Casino is Cavanaugh’s Restaurant. The food and customer service was exquisite. We had a wonderful time. All the reservations were made by Michael. I highly recommend Michael as your travel agent.
