About Me

Hungary is a destination that often surprises travelers in the best possible way. I’ve visited Hungary several times, and each experience has deepened my appreciation for its rich history, vibrant culture, and distinctive character. At the heart of the country lies Budapest, one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals, but Hungary offers far more than its iconic skyline. Designing journeys here is about revealing layers — from imperial architecture and thermal bath culture to countryside vineyards and lakeside retreats.

Budapest is undeniably captivating. Divided by the Danube into historic Buda and lively Pest, the city blends grandeur with creativity. I love curating experiences that allow travelers to feel the rhythm of the city — private guided walks through Castle District, evening river cruises past the illuminated Parliament building, visits to grand cafés that echo the Austro-Hungarian era, and time spent in the famous thermal baths that are woven into local life. Budapest has an elegance to it, but also an edge — a creative energy that makes it dynamic and memorable.

Hungary’s cultural heritage is deeply rooted in music, art, and gastronomy. From classical concerts in historic venues to contemporary galleries and vibrant markets, the country balances tradition with innovation. Hungarian cuisine itself is a journey — bold flavors, paprika-infused dishes, refined modern interpretations, and a growing wine scene that deserves attention. I often include private tastings in the Tokaj wine region or curated culinary experiences that showcase both heritage and contemporary Hungarian dining.

Beyond the capital, Hungary reveals a quieter charm. Lake Balaton, often called the “Hungarian Sea,” offers relaxed lakeside living, sailing, and vineyard-covered hills. The countryside is dotted with baroque towns, thermal spa retreats, and rolling landscapes that feel peaceful and authentic. The Great Plain (Puszta) introduces a different side of Hungary, with equestrian traditions and wide-open horizons that reflect the country’s historical roots.

What makes Hungary particularly appealing is its accessibility and balance. It offers cultural depth without overwhelming scale, historic architecture without excessive crowds, and refined experiences at a pace that allows for genuine connection. Luxury here is often understated — elegant boutique hotels, restored historic properties, personalized tours, and thoughtful service that enhances rather than dominates the experience.

My approach to planning travel in Hungary is highly personalized and detail-oriented. I work with knowledgeable local guides, trusted drivers, boutique accommodations, and cultural experts to ensure each journey flows smoothly. Whether designing a long weekend in Budapest or a more immersive exploration that includes wine regions, countryside stays, and wellness experiences, I focus on creating itineraries that feel seamless, enriching, and tailored to individual interests.

As a Hungary travel specialist and Budapest destination expert, I design custom Hungary itineraries, private Budapest tours, and tailor-made travel experiences across Budapest, Lake Balaton, Tokaj wine region, Eger, the Danube Bend, and the Hungarian Great Plain. My services include cultural travel planning, wine and culinary experiences, thermal spa retreats, heritage hotel stays, and curated Central Europe journeys designed with comfort and authenticity in mind.

Hungary is a destination that blends history, creativity, and warmth in a way that feels both refined and approachable. It is always a pleasure to design journeys here — experiences that highlight the beauty of Budapest, the richness of Hungarian culture, and the quiet elegance that makes this country so rewarding to explore.

Had such a great experience with Manuela planning our Hungary trip. We did a few days in Budapest and then headed down to Lake Balaton which was such a nice break from the city. She found us some really cool spots that weren’t super touristy, which we loved. Super responsive and actually listens to what you want.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

We loved the balance of historical tours in Dubrovnik and the relaxing beach time in Hvar. It was truly a core-memory trip for all of us.
