Even though Getaway Ideas Travel is a new business, I've spent decades researching, planning and coordinating trips for my extended family.  It's truly and extension of what I've always loved: discovering new places, maximizing every moment together, and helping people experience more than they expected in a short amount of time.  

I specialize in helping families with teens and adult kids plan trips that feel easy, meaningful, and worth the investment.  I understand the unique dynamics of this state of life - busy schedules, different interests, limited vacation time, and the desire to create memories together before and when everyone scatters.  I've lived that reality myself and I know that sometimes the biggest victory is simply getting everyone in the same place at the same time...preferably without anyone rolling their eyes. 

I'm especially passionate about golf getaways, nature-focused trips, cruises, all-inclusive beach vacations and vacation home stays. These types of trips work beautifully for families who want a balance of together time and personal space.  I love finding the right mix of activities, downtime and local flavor so everyone-from teens to gown kids to parents-feels like the trip was designed with them in mind. 

I'm also a strategist at heart.  I enjoy uncovering great deals, maximizing out-of-pocket spend and helping clients earn (or spend) their reward points and miles wisely.  Whether it's a long weekend, a milestone celebration, or a bigger bucket-list trip, I'm always looking for ways to stretch the value of a vacations without sacrificing the experience. 

Some of my favorite destinations include the West (I live in Colorado), South (I'm originally from Texas) and Southeast (We frequently end up in Florida) regions of the U.S.  My true getaways are to Mexico, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.  I'm drawn to places with great golf, beautiful scenery, warm weather and a good mix of adventure and relaxation.  I'm constantly researching new resorts, new experiences and new ways to help families get the most out of their time together.  

What I love most about the travel industry is the chance to help people finally take the trip they've been talking about.  Travel doesn't have to be overwhelming or complicated.  With the right planning, it can feel simple, exciting and full of moments you'll talk about for years.  And if I can help prevent at least one family argument about where to eat or what to do next, I consider that a job well done.
