Italian Spring Break

As a family, we’d always said our next international trip would be to Europe—so when the girls insisted on Italy, it was an easy yes (Italian food is our favorite, after all!). We spent our spring break soaking up every moment, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Here are a few highlights:

1. Colosseum & Roman Forum

Both girls had studied ancient history in school, so seeing it in real life brought everything full circle. We toured the Colosseum with a guide (highly recommend!), then explored the Roman Forum on our own—wandering through ruins that once shaped the world.

2. St. Peter's Basilica

Go to the top—seriously! It’s a bit tight and definitely tests your comfort level at times, but the views are absolutely unbelievable. As a bonus, there was a Catholic service taking place in the chapel while we were there—completely breathtaking.

3. Amalfi Coast T

his is the one place we wish we had more time. Every view feels like a postcard, and the lemon gelato? Easily some of the best we’ve ever had.

4. Cooking Class One of our favorite memories—learning to make fresh pasta and tiramisu together. Such a fun (and delicious!) way to experience the culture.

And finally… the FOOD. The pasta, the pizza, the gelato—every single bite was incredible. Italy, you spoiled us!
