About Me

Family Travel—Europe, US & Canada | Complex Needs

Hiking in the Austrian Alps
Hiking in the Austrian Alps

Travel has always been my heartbeat -- both as a mom and as an explorer. Growing up, our family vacations were a mix of camper camping in northern Michigan, sunny weeks in Florida and trips to visit relatives around the US and Canada. My dad spent several summers teaching at DOD schools in both Switzerland and London, which gave me the opportunity to visit and experience life abroad at a young age. Fun fact: we were in London the summer that Lady Diana married Prince Charles.

As a parent, from toddler days at Disney’s Magic Kingdom to a seven-week family road trip through Europe, I’ve learned that travel isn’t just about destinations; it’s about the stories, mishaps and laughter that happen along the way. My dad always joked that planning trips was therapy for me and I know he was right.

As the parent of two boys with unique needs, one with cystic fibrosis who is tube-fed and another with a food allergy, I know firsthand the logistics, anticipations and worries that come with traveling. But I also know how deeply necessary those adventures are. With careful planning (and a lot of flexibility), we’ve road-tripped through the U.S. and Europe, packed extra medical gear for flights and navigated special dietary needs, all while embracing joy even when things got messy. I specialize in helping families (medical needs or not) take the worry out of travel so they can focus on making memories.

Whether you’re dreaming of a Caribbean all-inclusive, a family cruise, or an adventure in Europe, I’ll handle the details so you can be present. If you want a travel partner who knows what it’s like behind the scenes and still believes in joy, even when plans go off-course, I’d love to help you plan your next journey.

You will love working with Laura!
Reviewed By R&BG - Wisconsin | Traveled to Canada
I cannot say enough good things about Laura Drummond! I had never contacted a travel agent before, and was nervous about doing so. Laura was so accommodating and professional she immediately made us feel that we had made the right choice. She listened to our preferences and really wanted to get to know my husband and I and what kinds of things we like and are looking for in our vacation. Laura always included multiple options and choices when suggesting things we might like to do and see in our travels. I explained that I have mobility issues and use a walker so we needed to address that when making travel plans. Laura always kept that top of mind in every situation. She even contacted a relative of hers who also has mobility concerns and had traveled to the areas we were considering to see how she was able to safely navigate the cobblestone streets! After working with us over months planning our trip, my husband became quite ill and we had to cancel! Laura could not have been more understanding. She was more concerned with his well-being than anything else. She really is amazing! You will love working with Laura! She will be planning all of our getaways from now on!

What began as a fun getaway and checking a destination off our bucket list turned tragic when I blacked out fell and fractured my neck! Laura took care of our reservations as well as managed my medical destination. Way above the norm for a travel agent, but Laura’s agency is experienced in out of the box thinking for her clients.
Laura Drummond responded
"Thank you, Diana. Your trip certainly did not turn out the way we anticipated, but I'm grateful I was able to help you. We'll plan another getaway when you're ready!"

Laura helped me with air, hotel and car reservations for a Spring break trip with my son. My son travels with several pieces of medical equipment and Laura gave me several specific suggestions and strategies for how to navigate the TSA and the airline processes. I appreciated that she was responsive and that she also provided me a helpful summary of all our travel details. I will be using her again for future trips!

Ravenna Before a Cruise: Mosaics, Dante and Gelato

Before our 10-night Norwegian Viva cruise from Ravenna, Italy, to Istanbul, my extended family of eight decided to spend two nights in Ravenna. Although some cruise itineraries describe the departure port as “Venice,” the terminal is actually near Ravenna, roughly three hours south of Venice. Arriving early gave us time to recover from jet lag—a...

For Every Slice of Strudel, There’s a Big Corny

Foreign grocery stores hold a special place in my family’s heart. Visiting a new country is endlessly fascinating—not only because of the famous landmarks, but because of the snack aisles. Sometimes we discover regional versions of familiar favorites. Other times, we find something so unexpected that it becomes one of our strongest travel memori...

Hamburg: Miniatur Wunderland and Tiny Worlds

When my oldest son, Jack, was little, he loved everything about trains. Our house was filled with elaborate tracks, tiny engines and train videos that fascinated him—and promptly put the adults to sleep. My dad heard about Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg and dreamed of taking Jack there one day. Although he did not live long enough to make that t...
