Hiking in the Austrian Alps

Travel has always been my heartbeat -- both as a mom and as an explorer. Growing up, our family vacations were a mix of camper camping in northern Michigan, sunny weeks in Florida and trips to visit relatives around the US and Canada. My dad spent several summers teaching at DOD schools in both Switzerland and London, which gave me the opportunity to visit and experience life abroad at a young age. Fun fact: we were in London the summer that Lady Diana married Prince Charles.

As a parent, from toddler days at Disney’s Magic Kingdom to a seven-week family road trip through Europe, I’ve learned that travel isn’t just about destinations; it’s about the stories, mishaps and laughter that happen along the way. My dad always joked that planning trips was therapy for me and I know he was right.

As the parent of two boys with unique needs, one with cystic fibrosis who is tube-fed and another with a food allergy, I know firsthand the logistics, anticipations and worries that come with traveling. But I also know how deeply necessary those adventures are. With careful planning (and a lot of flexibility), we’ve road-tripped through the U.S. and Europe, packed extra medical gear for flights and navigated special dietary needs, all while embracing joy even when things got messy. I specialize in helping families (medical needs or not) take the worry out of travel so they can focus on making memories.
