About Me

Whether you are looking for a honeymoon or special celebration trip, I can help you put together something truly special to one of my favorite vacation spots - Hawaii. I've traveled to all of its islands, and here is a special memory of a trip I took to the Big Island in 2018.

On our annivesary trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, we decided to go on a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour to check out the volcano and lava flow. What an amazingly beautiful, volatile place the Big Island is. Flying over the Kilauea Crater and Fissure 8, I was shocked at the devastation to the land and Leilani Estates where 716 homes were destroyed from the lava flow. Lava came dangerously close to Hawaii's power plant. Kilauea's summit crater was full to the brim with lava prior to the eruption out of Fissure 8 in May 2018. The lava drained out the bottom causing the walls of the gigantic crater to collapse and fall in on itself. Things seem to be settling down for this volcano but roads cannot be recut in the area until 6 months after the lava stops flowing.

This part of the island is in the southeast corner and is small in comparison to the whole island, but the news coverage of this eruption caused tourism to plummet that year.

This was a wonderful trip, especially with the helicopter tour, but other nice points of interest include:

Rainbow Falls,l ocated in Hilo, the falls flow over a natural lava cave, the mythological home to Hina, an ancient Hawaiian goddess. Rainbow Falls derives its name from the fact that, on sunny mornings around 10 am, rainbows can be seen in the mist thrown up by the waterfall.

Kamuela Provision Company in Waikoloa - Overlooking the ocean, you really can't find a more beautiful view for dinner. Tim enjoyed the red snapper and I enjoyed a caesar salad, hand-dipped onion rings, and a Mai Tai, of course, at sunset.

Lagoon Grille in Waikoloa - We also enjoyed this casual restaurant where you can watch the dolphins play in nearby pools. We'll be back. Stay classy Hawaii!

Fun family trip!

Hi Cynthia, As you requested, I've got some thoughts on our Norwegian cruise to share. I'm sending most of this just for your knowledge as a travel agent and for you to pass on to other travelers, not to nitpick anything. I wouldn't have said anything about any of it, but you asked. ?? Keep in mind that I have only ever been on one other cruise through Royal Caribbean, but these observations are from Dave too and he's cruised more than me, when he was younger. The Good: The food was much better than RC. We had a few issues with them under cooking meat at the buffet and at one of the restaurants. The upgraded restaurants that you pay for or use your cruise credit are worth it, at least a few nights. We loved the Italian restaurant best. The rooms are quite spacious, at least the ones we got. Having a balcony is absolutely worth the extra cost. The live music throughout the boat was fantastic! Where Norwegian Could Improve: I am a huge believer in good customer service and very
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
