Mountains & Sea

Let me introduce myself.  I'm Melissa Moffitt, travel enthusiast, planner of all things and adventurer.  I live in the beautiful mountains of NC with my husband.  My parents provided me the opportunity to experience life beyond the borders of my home state of North Carolina from a young age. Our travels were primarily focused domestically and in the Caribbean. While attending Western Carolina University, studying Communication Sciences & Disorders (Speech Language Pathology), I met my dear friend and sorority sister, Odise, who was born in the Netherlands, living in Curacao, and had traveled the world.  Through family and personal contacts we traveled throughout college domestically and internationally. I was hooked; hook, line, and sinker. One of the most memorable, a graduation trip to Switzerland (Zurich, Lucerne, Geneva), Italy (Venice) and Germany along The Rhine.  

I took a travel assignment in Hawaii allowing my husband and I to experience the beauty of the islands and their unique culture.  We lived on the Big Island for 8 weeks and traveled throughout Hawaii, Oahu and Maui.  We've returned 4 times for vacation with family and friends.  

Fast forward to 2013, I took up running and with the support of my husband and running partner, Leigh Ann, we embarked on a journey of running a half marathon in all 50 states. We completed that journey in Alaska in 2022. Through that experience I discovered the depths of wonder throughout the United States with her varied topography and endless beauty. Leigh Ann and I continued running, expanding our goal to complete the Abbott's World Major Marathons. This journey carried us near (Boston, Chicago, and New York) and far (Tokyo, Berlin and London), accomplishing our goal in 2024.

Now that I've hung up the running shoes, I can be found reading, taking a Pilates class, enjoying long weekends taking in the sights and sounds of a new city, Broadway shows, concerts, sharing time with family and friends, enjoying the water and planning my next trip. My husband and I have traversed the globe by land, air and sea, from the National Parks to The Holy Land (Israel) to cruising the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Alaska.  

Through the varied travel experiences I've had by air, rail, sea, and everything in between,  I bring an unusual perspective to traveling.  I've been to many corners of the world, with so many more to explore.  Allow me the pleasure of assisting you on your next getaway, near or far.
