Germany, Austria, and Northern Italy are some of my favorite places on earth! Having traveled extensively through these regions, I’ve fallen in love with their breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and warm, welcoming people. Bavaria, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. Despite its complex history, the beauty of the country and its people shines through. If you are looking for an adventure, southern Germany will not disappoint! Whether you want to glacier ski on Zugspitze, hike the Partnach Gorge in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, or swim in the gorgeous Lake Eibsee, you can find adventure around every corner of this amazing area. Throw in a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle or stay in a boutique hotel on Ludwigstraße, one of the most picturesque streets in all of Germany. Munich, with its historic charm, is also a must-visit. From the lively energy of Oktoberfest and it's many beer halls, to the magical Christmas markets with their twinkling lights and steaming mugs of hot glühwein, holidays in Munich can't be missed.
A quick train trip to Austria allows a visit to Salzburg which enchants with its baroque architecture, musical heritage, and the surrounding alpine beauty. Innsbruck, nestled in the heart of the Alps, offers a perfect blend of history and adventure. You can visit alpine lake villages like Lake Hallstatt, that seem untouched by time, or venture into the fascinating salt mines that tell the story of the region’s rich past. Visiting in the fall allows you to be a part of the traditional and picturesque Almabtrieb festivals.
Another short drive away is Northern Italy’s Dolomite region, which is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. This region offers phenomenal skiing as well as year round hiking and biking through its small mountain villages, each offering jaw-dropping views and mouth watering cuisine. No visit is complete without a day hike to one of the many beautiful alpine lakes, including a stop at one of the local rifugios, or mountain huts, where you can stop for a cold beer and a warm meal to break up your hike. A weekend in the Dolomites will turn an ordinary European vacation into an adventure that you will remember for a lifetime!
As your travel expert, I specialize in creating custom itineraries that bring these incredible destinations to life. Whether you prefer the freedom of a self-drive adventure, the ease of train travel, or the luxury of private transfers, I’ll design a journey tailored to your preferences. From skiing on glaciers to exploring Christmas markets, hiking alpine trails, or savoring the culinary delights of the region, I’ll ensure your trip is seamless, unforgettable, and filled with unique experiences. Let’s craft your dream vacation to Germany, Austria, and Northern Italy — where every moment is an adventure waiting to happen!
