Los Cabos

My visit to Los Cabos was quite an experience. I stayed at the Grand Fiesta Americana. From flying over the desert to watching how the locals live to the long drive to the resort. Once again I was treated to a club level room. This resort definitely got my 5 star rating. We visited the Live Aqua just a short ride up a hill and were treated to cocktails and hor d' oeuvres and took a tour of the property. We had a day to travel downtown. It was a lovely experience to go into shops and restaurants.Located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, Los Cabos is a sun-soaked mix of desert and sea. The flight into Los Cabos International Airport was smooth and seeing the coastline from above was unreal—arid mountains dropping right into the deep blue ocean. Made me feel like I was in an African country.Los Cabos has a mix of locals, expats, and visitors, and the hospitality is top-tier. Everyone—from the resort staff to local shop owners—was friendly, helpful, and quick to share a story or suggestion.The local tour guides were in a hurry to offer the best price to tour El Arco (The Arch) is the must-see natural landmark—those iconic rock formations rising from the sea where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. I also checked out the art galleries and colonial vibes in San José del Cabo, with locals offering to purchase their products, mainly jewelry and perfumes. We also hit the marina and party spots in Cabo San Lucas.Cabo definitely knows how to party. From beach clubs like Mango Deck to rooftop bars and late-night dancing at Squid Roe, there’s always something going on. If you want more chill, there are cozy lounges with live acoustic music and incredible sunset views. We even took in a Michael Jackson show one night.Some beaches are made for sunbathing, others for adventure. I loved Playa Santa Maria and Chileno Bay for snorkeling—clear waters and tons of sea life. It was amazing to see dolphins flipping over and doing tricks.    There were a lot of sales people outside businesses encouraging us to come in and shop. Great food and atmosphere is how I summed up this property.
