About Me

Family Cruises and East Asia Travel Specialist

Hiking along the Great Wall at dawn.
Hiking along the Great Wall at dawn.

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Kate, and I’m a passionate travel agent specializing in family cruises and East Asia adventures. Whether you’re dreaming of setting sail with your kids on a magical cruise across the Caribbean or planning an unforgettable cultural journey through China, Japan, or South Korea, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

With over a decade of firsthand travel experience and time spent living in China and South Korea, I’ve cultivated deep knowledge, local insight, and a love for connecting people with meaningful travel experiences. I know that planning a trip can be overwhelming—especially when you're trying to cater to a family or navigate the complexities of international travel. That’s where I come in. I combine my professional travel planning expertise with the personal touch that only someone who’s truly “been there” can provide.

My journey into the world of travel started long before I became a certified travel professional. It began with a spark—an insatiable curiosity about the world and a desire to experience it not just as a tourist, but as a local, a learner, and a storyteller. I took a gap year and taught English in China, and that experience forever changed my perspective.

I spent a couple of years living in China and South Korea, learning the languages, building friendships, and discovering the hidden gems that most tourists never see. East Asia is more than just a destination to me—it’s a part of who I am. I’ve walked along the Great Wall of China and eaten street food in Chengdu that would make your taste buds dance. I’ve wandered the bustling night markets of Taipei, navigated the neon streets of Seoul, danced at local festivals, and soaked in natural hot springs in rural China.

When I became a parent, my passion for travel didn’t slow down—it evolved. Suddenly, I began looking at travel through a new lens. I didn’t just want to see the world; I wanted my child to experience it. I wanted her to grow up knowing that the world is vast, beautiful, and diverse—that cultures are meant to be embraced, that languages are bridges, and that memories made while exploring are some of the richest treasures life has to offer.

That’s when I truly leaned into family cruising. Cruises are the perfect introduction to the world for children and an incredible way for parents to travel with ease and confidence. With built-in entertainment, flexible schedules, and destinations that inspire curiosity and adventure, cruises offer something for every member of the family.

And because I’ve experienced it both as a travel agent and as a parent, I understand the questions, concerns, and logistics that matter most to families. Need adjoining cabins? Dietary restrictions? Help with nap schedules or stroller-friendly excursions? I’ve got you.

I believe travel is one of the most powerful gifts we can give our children.

It teaches empathy. It builds confidence. It opens minds and hearts.

I’ve seen firsthand how travel helps children (and adults!) develop a broader worldview. When kids experience life outside their own neighborhood—when they taste new foods, hear different languages, or witness unfamiliar traditions—they grow in understanding and respect. They become more adaptable, more curious, and more connected to the people around them.

This belief shapes everything I do as a travel advisor.

I love helping families choose trips that aren't just fun (though of course, they should be!) but also meaningful. Whether that means incorporating a cultural experience into a cruise shore excursion—like visiting a local school or market—or crafting a custom itinerary through Japan where your kids can try calligraphy, stay in a ryokan, or ride the iconic Shinkansen bullet train, I aim to make every trip an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

Bridging Two Worlds – What Makes My Services Unique:

There aren’t many travel professionals who combine the hands-on knowledge of family cruising with deep cultural expertise in East Asia. But that’s where I shine—and where I love to serve my clients best.

I specialize in creating travel experiences that bridge these two worlds: the comfort, ease, and excitement of family cruises, and the immersive, enriching journeys of East Asia travel. Sometimes, that looks like combining the two—planning a cruise that begins or ends in Asia, followed by a land-based adventure. Other times, it’s about helping a family with young kids experience Tokyo for the first time with just the right balance of fun, food, and flexibility.

I also work with multi-generational families. I’ve curated shore excursions that work for strollers and walking sticks alike, selected resorts with kids' clubs and cultural workshops, and arranged private guides who know how to engage both curious teens and energetic toddlers.

No two families are the same. I take the time to get to know yours—your interests, your travel style, your goals—and then build a trip that reflects your unique dynamic.
