Lodi California – A Destination Wine Country

As a travel agent passionate about sharing the greatest finds, I have to tell you about Lodi, CA!!  In 2020 Lodi rebranded itself as “Lodi Wine Country”, and rightfully so as it is the largest and most bountiful wine region in the United States.  Lodi produces roughly 20% of California wine grapes which is HUGE when compared to Napa Valley’s 4%.   Lodi has 86 vineyards that produce more than 120 varieties of wine, there is literally a wine for everyone!   Lodi vineyards are comfortable, with no pretention, and staffed with service professionals who truly enjoy talking about wine, or the grounds, or the day.  And it is not uncommon to meet the vineyard owner or grower.  It is small town feel in the largest wine region in the country. Downtown Lodi is a great little town to visit!  Originally established in 1869, the downtown received major upgrades throughout the 2000’s.  Now it is a hub of vibrant restaurants, tasting rooms, breweries and shops.  Retrofitted gas lamps and cobblestone streets give downtown the feel of yesteryear, but the modern dining and tasting are right from today.   Outdoor enthusiasts find plenty to explore in Lodi. Lodi Lake Park offers kayaking, paddleboarding, and scenic trails along the Mokelumne River. Birdwatchers can marvel at the majestic Sandhill Cranes during their annual migration at the Isenberg Crane Reserve.  And the Mokelumne River is a destination fishing area for anglers looking to hook steelehead, salmon and trout, and it is a great river to hike along with outstanding sunrises and sunsets. Contact me and let’s plan your next wine tasting in Lodi, a destination Wine Country!!
